Hysteria was a masterpiece. Perhaps the best mainstream metal/rock album of that decade. Hit after hit and not a bad song on the whole thing.

Amid the glut of glam metal guff during the '80s, there stood the beacon of brilliance known as Def Leppard. They owned that decade with only two huge albums and with good reason: they were the very, VERY best of their genre, by some considerable distance. While their 'peers' were trying to write songs that would get into the top 40 for a couple of months, Joe Elliott and company were busy constructing superb confections that would be remembered for years to come. And they have been.

+azapro911 10000% correct. I have seen them live in concert twice, and would pay to see them again. They played for a small crowd during a tropical storm, with the energy of playing in front of a sold out stadium. Damn great band.

I waited almost 4 years for this. Took ages for them to follow up on pyro. I was very happy With hysteria. Hoped it would rock harder but all the songs are catchy and the album worked great. This is one of the better tracks. Love bites-a masterpiece ballad. Gods of war-a true album cut that glues the album tight when flipping the Lp. When I got this in 87 on Lp there was a lot of talk about it being too long for one Lp. Both sides were over 30 minutes. Still have my (March 1988) signed copy and it sounds fine.

Ooh we ooh Ooh wee ooh In the beginning God made the land Then He made the water and creatures, then He made man He was born with a passion, love and hate A restless spirit with a need for a mate But there was somethin' that was missin', somethin' lost So he came with the answer, here's what it cost One part love, one part wild One part lady, one part child I give you Women! women! - Lots of pretty women Men! men! - They can't live without them Women! women! - Lots of pretty women Men! men! - They can't live without them And in the garden, lust began The animal instinct, the wanton man She fed him with a hunger, an appetite And fillin' with emotion he took a bite It was one part love, one part child One part lover, one part wild I give you [Repeat Chorus] Skin on skin Let the love begin Women! [guitar solo] It was one part love, one part wild One part lover, one part child A whole lotta fire, a little bit of ice A whole lotta somethin' you can't sacrifice I give you Hair, eyes, skin on skin Legs - Legs Thighs - Thighs What's that spell? (Spell? what's that spell?) (What's that spell?) What's that spell? (What's that spell?) (Women, women) Oh! oh! oh! Oh! oh! oh! Women - Women Women Callin' every girl Women women All around the world Women - Women! Women Oh, we can't live without them Women women [guitar solo] Def Leppard Lyrics "Hysteria" (1987)
