It’s no secret that science drives innovation, and the same is true in warfare. Jean-François Morel is the Director General of R&D Science and Engineering at Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC). It’s a big title but a fitting one, because there’s a whole lot of research happening, and he’s the person keeping it all moving. Listen in to find out what DRDC is doing to help the Army stay ahead of the curve on the battlefield.

The future is always indigenous. Canada has a vast wildness that can be harnessed for defense. The indigenous people are still here cause they are apart of the spirituality of the land. Would be good to have a wildlife biologist/scientist with DRD that is of First Nation ancestry.

Okay Number 1 make it happen. Develop it, make it here, not outsource. Now today would be, a good start. It will make us on par with G7 growth needed. The problem is, do we even have abilities to do it properly anymore? Don’t just talk about it. War happens quickly. Not five years from now. Geologically we are not untouchable.

Imagine a cougar as a scout, harnessed with a "go-pro" with light firearm support operated remotely by a soldier. As well bird of prey are great at taking out drones. The wild can and have been a great sentient ally.
