It gets said in chambers; can’t say it on the record as it creates an ethical issue for the lawyer.

Why do these attorneys not tell their clients that if they're not going to have the respect to call the Judge "Your Honor", the very least they can do is call them "ma'am" and "sir", not "miss". It makes me cringe to hear a defendant say "Yes, miss" or "Miss Boyd".

What a real piece of work!! Another 22yo with severe PTSD?? It's so bad he needs medical marijuana but has another child on the way!! Fix yourself before bringing any more children into this world!! Talent has nothing to do with his lack of adherence to the rules provided by the judge!

Yep! Personally I don’t even like if they refer to her as Judge…i.e. “Yes Judge Boyd.” I prefer “Your Honor”. P.S. “Your Majesty” works as well 😉

@@misswildlife7905 In my relatively vast experience, "Your Honor", "Judge" or "Judge (Last Name)" are all appropriate ways to address a judge. "ma'am" or "sir" is usually alright, but some judges will say "I'm usually called "Your Honor"" if you call them "ma'am" or "sir". When you write about a judge, you call them "His Honor" or "Her Honor", or "Judge (Last Name)". As a paralegal for more than 2 and a half decades who is now on the way to becoming a lawyer, myself, I often think I'm much more uptight about it than licensed attorneys and even the judges are, though. Lol.

He was on probation. This was a motion to revoke. A judge doesn't give probation. It's the state who hands out deals. But when it's time to revoke, then it's up to judge what sentence she wants to hand out.

I think this is very sad. He does seem really immature and to have some mental health issues maybe beyond PTSD. He said that people are harassing him because of his music, so that leads me to believe that there is likely some musical adversaries and that’s why he was carrying a weapon. I think 4 years was heavy handed. It makes no sense to me why he can’t go to the treatment for 90-120 days, which will benefit him greatly and then maybe 90 days in jail? Throwing him away for 4 years doesn’t help him or society in the long run.
@sandboxplayerz667

Right at the end, the lawyer asked would the judge retain jurisdiction, and she said, yes. It means she's giving a shock probation. If he does everything right, he'll be out after 6 months.

All the things (young, immature, mentally challenged) the defense attorney is arguing as to why he should not be held accountable for parole violations, are also reasons why he has NO BUSINESS to keep making babies that he is financially and emotionally responsible for; shall we check if his family receives any ongoing government financial assistance? Give me a break with this.
