If im not mistaken, isnt that a rover v8, the engine designed by buick in the 60s?
@TirsbaekTV10 жыл бұрын
It was originally, and this version and many other Rover V8's are derived from it I think
@erikhose30010 жыл бұрын
I also believe the gm 3800 was derived from the same engine. Which is interesting since the original is only a 3.5
@jamienorman26229 жыл бұрын
Erik Hose you're correct. but the rover adaptation varied from 3.5 litres to 5.5litres. it was even used in London's ambulances

@TirsbaekTV8 жыл бұрын
I kept the rear small silencer in, due to road laws, but if you look on our channel, Project Bob has got a cherry bomb and sounds even more brutal!
@yannletallec33098 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the fast answer :) Gonna have to keep the rear silencer aswell for the same reason... ;) Mine is a 3.5 with Edelbrock, hope it's gonna come close to that !!

@TirsbaekTV10 жыл бұрын
Nu må vi se om, hvor meget vi kan nå at tjene i høstsæsonen, men ellers ville en Stage III intercooler lave en stor forskel
@AdirondackAmerican4 жыл бұрын
I run my ‘94 discovery with just the rear silencer. All the other crap is just restricting airflow.
@d-padclips37384 жыл бұрын
Adirondack American does it sound the same with just the rear silencer as it would straight piped?
@AdirondackAmerican4 жыл бұрын
D-pad Clips man, straight piped would be ridiculously loud. Fine for an off road rig, but to be on the road you’re gonna want something on it to quiet it down and give back pressure to the engine. I had an Audi A6 with straight pipes and would set of car alarms when I drove through town.

@Los_Chanchulleros2 жыл бұрын
To say that that Land Rover V8 is the same as a Buick 215 is the same as saying that a Chevrolet 262 is the same as a Corvette Z02. Man, learn how to change a spark plug before you're typing on the internet.
@GarretKrampe2 жыл бұрын
@@Los_Chanchulleros I see so Honda never made a discovery also right ?
@Los_Chanchulleros2 жыл бұрын
@@GarretKrampe eerrgghh ... the video is about a Defender, not about a Discovery 🤣
@@GarretKrampe I don't need to read anything on the Internet, I've spent a lifetime looking inside engines. That's why I gave you the example of the Chevrolet 262, because it is the origin of the LS. It's the same with the Buick 215, which is the origin of the evolution into something greater. You should learn what crossbolted blocks are, see how those engines made it to the 455s. Because Buick never had a real Big Block and it was just the same engine with a taller deck. No, a Buick 215 or Rover 3.5 is not the same as when they are already in their last stage with 4.6 they had improved the quality enormously. My favorite? Buick 300s with aluminum heads sadly did not come with MPFI or DIS. And to have one with all the best, you have to take parts up to the 3800 V6. You should respect those engines, they are a work of art.

It should have the same engine (2.5 TD5) so I dont think it would act any differently than Liams 90". The sensor you are talking about is the CO2 sensor, but that should be placed by the downpipe and not that long back on the system
