9 years ago but still very spot on. I got Kimuraed today and I didn’t know how to defend. I just tapped. Now I know how to defend it. 🥰

You have been an exceptional secondary teacher for me as I have begun my jiu jitsu journey. Everytime I go to class I have at least one thing I know really well and a couple other ideas to try from watching your videos.

@5:45 You also have a Kimura of your own on the left arm; if you use the triangle and heavy hips he shouldn't be able to roll. Even if he does you can keep the triangle locked and still take the arm or even the wrist for a double or triple tap. I'm sure that's all obvious but for anybody who might've missed that, there it is.

😆"That convenient tendon was put there so you can counter the kimura" Genius. Awesome explanation of these very useful techniques. I like the way you use your language to your explanations since this game is filled with uncertainty so you do not have a specific all-in-one technique that will be applicable for everything. Words like "hopefully, abandon his move, who knows, potential move, and so on." Also, if you mistakenly knee Richie, coming back with "I am kneeing in the head for good measure." Hilarious.

Thank you so much! I am having trouble with a strong opponent who uses this Kimura from half guard as his go-to move and I have been racking my brains trying to find an escape.

Yay, free content. Ty Watching this, it took a few options before I started seeing defenses that got my brain firing, ones that will work with the way I move. Definitely used to not be a SK fan but now there's so much garbage out there that it's easier to appreciate the quality of his work.

what if he goes for the kimura from side mount and drops his leg over your face?, similar way when you set up a armbar, only with a kimura.
