Your iron deposit is rich, so I think it becomes infinite (and therefore potentially very valuable) if you put down a deep mine. The horse is ridden by your trader, and draws a cart, enabling faster travel with greater loads. You should have had a corpse pit for the raiders, or you will run out of space in the graveyard for parishioners. Lightning is what caused the fire. If you have the expansion on the level 2 plot before upgrading to level 3, I think it allows a third family on the site (because the house is larger, maybe it has servants?). Charcoal will double the heating value of firewood, so is well worthwhile. I don't think it is required for the bloomery or blacksmith though, which is slightly odd.

Darren try to make bows which are kind of unlimited money. Make bows and sell. Assign horses to trading post to increase trading quantity.

Be cool if they had a at night mode where you have to assign town sentries to kill off wolves or bandits trying to sneak in or even have sentries to try and catch thieves inside the town if your population isn't happy.

That will definitely happen, the main dev hinted toward the inclusion of town guard and thieves, aswell as gunpowder and siege weapons, he's currently hiring devs with the money he got so expect updates soon! 😊

As for the “Smell” WIP over lay; Tanneries and Charcoal Furnaces were notorious for the odor they emitted in historical times. Not so much the smaller goat and other artisan “backyard” add ons

Great video, really enjoy it. I believe a variety of goods (for example clothes from wool, linen and leather) currently only brings bonuses to your Happiness. Same goes for the "refined" clothes. One of them is needed to upgrade, more should bring you more happiness.

Loving the series, and will absolutely be buying game at first opportunity - my only gripe at the moment is the sheer number of long (60 seconds plus), unskippable ads every 10 minutes or so. Perhaps the iron should be exploited and I would definitely turn a family into a bowyer for shredding any bandits and trading away the surplus. Make the village one of Arms dealers and watch the cash roll in......

About the retinue: these are you full-time soldiers. They dont live in the manor. The manor function more like a barracks for them. You can hire more soldiers to the retinue (to a max of 36 i think pr region that you own with a manor). You hire more soldiers to the retinue under "retinue customization" - here you can add more soldiers, upgrade their amor (if you have developed your region with the nesseary tech) I saw all this in a steam that good old LegendOfTotalwar did of this game :) ps i dont think that your retinue is taken from your presants that work the jobs in your town. Meaning calling up/mustering your retinue might not impact the productivty of your town like mustering your millia does? someone should look more into this or that Developer Greg can comfirm this.

This game looks amazing! After seeing those fires I was wondering if maybe having a couple of water pits around could help, so people don't have to carry as far. But overall you're really good at this!

Not a bad idea, depends on groundwater deposit but certainly wouldnt hurt to have multiple!

Hey Darren, the retinue come equipped with decent gear in the recruitment cost. They can be further upgraded to have some plate armour.

I believe burned down houses are either reconstructed automatically or maybe through a button press (at the same level they were)... Can't remember where I saw it, but I am quite sure...

Turns out theyre only rebuilt if the fire was put out successfully. Had them auto rebuild in my stream today, but I guess with the save/load issue here the rubble was permanent

Was there a button to rebuild that house u went straight to the demolition and there was a huge button in the middle i was wondering what that was had a hammer like repair

There is sometimes a button to do that, but at 32:08 you can see there is no button. The rebuild button I've only seen in neutral territory when the map has a few preset buildings that are ruins, you can click a button to rebuild instantly. Also it seems people will just rebuild on rubble themselves over time if you wait.

Hi there, last one I watched was the Anno1800 series and really enjoyed it until it got too complex. Manor Lords looks fun, but can you be honest, isn't it like a slight upgrade to the Farthest Frontier game? Allocation of villagers, industries and so on looks very similar, just with a few more details and maybe a more complex army/war gameplay, no? Thanks for your answer, keep up the good content!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Manor Lords is in some ways an "upgrade" to Farthest Frontier. It's an organic medieval city builder, with a focus on realism and a smaller focus on combat. Farthest Frontier is inspired by Banished, an extremely popular game that came before it. Banished is almost identical to Farthest Frontier, both are on a grid, same setting, similar building chains and so on. FF is a far more complete game than manor lords at the moment in terms of content, but manor lords has the edge on visuals, realism in the way the economy works and combat.
