I can feel for her as being visited Japan few times and heard so many stories about the Japanese society I would easily say that closing the Japan for 200 years to other Japan has become monolith and sick society and the sickness is growing day by day and they are not accepting it. Sorry to say I have many friends in Japan but its professional relationship. No outsiders can fit into that society as they won't accept you easily and will keep reminding you every time. This girl had courage so she succeeded

She is really said, in japan is really race bullying. My dad japanese my mom indonesia but my eyes same like my mom. When child until now when meet with japanese, they will not respect to me. They always said gaijin/foreigner. Now I'm happy had change nationality to be indonesia. Now I'm live in bali indonesia, no races bullying.
