Tundra owner here - Assuming your phones are new(ish), they should have wireless charging capabilities. If you opted for the wireless charger or even just plugging your phone into the port in the center console, it connects you to wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto so you don’t have to pay for navigation. It also puts your navigation on the MID cluster.

Good stuff as always sir. Glad you're liking the truck. I'm still not a fan but they do look better with lift wheels and tires. But I can't say the 5.7 Tundra is boring or bad. FWIW - Tundra's are built in San Antonio for the Americans. They built that truck with Americans in mind and definitely not their homeland. The Hybrid variant of this truck is kind of a sweet spot for me. Need to be able to pull a boat and 12,000 lbs is a nice option. Unfortunately, that means $70k.

I appreciate the effort put into this video. I’m more curious than anything else. Had a Gen 2 Raptor now I’m in a TRX. So I kinda screwed myself because I can’t ever downgrade from where I’m at and accustomed to lol. I will agree a Gen 2 Raptor is a great value for what it is with all these modern trucks. My Gen 2 Raptor fully equipped had more features than my current level 2 TRX. Put 85k miles on my raptor and drove it from PA to FL at least a dozen times. Held up decent. Had to do cam phasers twice and some other power train issues and sun roof tracking broke twice. TRX is good so far but something about Ford and the Raptors they are just dialed in suspension wise..

This is what I wanted to see as a Toyota fanboy. An honest review of the breakout year model for a new generation Tundra. I really wanted to see you grow into liking the Tundra after a bit of personalization but anticipated your mileage if that wasn't the case. I like hearing the gripes but I also question myself what/how something could have been improved to live up to your comparison. i.e. What is it that Des doesn't like about the seats specifically and who does it better, etc? I know the basis for comparison was in large part the Raptor, so the similarities are super helpful to someone in the market for a new truck. As always, thanks for doing what you do, constantly informing and inspiring! Glad you all are feeling better. BTW that azz shot at 20:30 is sexxxxxy! P.S. Still bitter about the sale of the crawler. I bought a 2000 (in 05) when I turned 16 (34 now) and daily drove it for 16 years until my single cab wasn't conducive for the advent of a second child. I seem to remember in my earlier years those weren't what I would consider "all highway miles" either. I would drive it to high school still covered in mud from the night prior. I would never sell it and now after years, it becomes my dedicated play toy. I loved seeing you with yours having fun snow wheeling. I guess I just have another channel to follow now. JT from SW MO

Yeah but the thing is this sr5 should not be compared to a ford raptor being the highest trim level of the f-150 until the raptor R comes out soon but still it shouldn’t even be comparable. At least the trd pro would be better since it is the highest trim right now for the tundra until the trail hunter comes and that would be even more comparable but that’s more of an overlanding trim and neither trim is intended to be a performance super truck like the raptor or trx. I know he’s just comparing what he owns now compared to what he owned before and he even said the raptor spoiled him and he’s basically saying he knows they really aren’t supposed to be compared but I personally like the trd pro tundra more and would choose it over the raptor having owned both myself. Currently own the trd pro, traded in my raptor and haven’t regretted it at all. I tried to do something outside of Toyota but I realize that I just feel at home in a toyota and everything about them just works for me personally. Also own a 5th gen 2018 built up 4runner which is my baby and wouldn’t trade that for anything. The 2022 trd pro tundra is amazing tho and feels very refined and has a ton of power, looks kinda awkward with stock 33’s but upgrading to 35’s sets it off perfectly and the stands is perfect now and matches the rest of the design of the truck, and only looks better with 37’s from what I’ve seen of people putting 37’s on the new tundras but I’m perfectly happy with 35s right now.

The only issues I have had with mine was interior issues. Stuff like the side seat panel breaking when entering or exiting the truck (known issue and will be fixed under warranty) and rattles after about 22,000 miles. But hands down, one of my favorite new truck ever. I like it way better than the ford F150 FX4 and the Chevy 1500 Z71 with like features, I have owned both.

I bought a Tacoma in October and after 2 long road-trips (3-5 hours), it’s power train is a total dog. Really liked it at first but it’s so slow and small and any real off-road mods require suspension upgrades first. I liked that truck for all of 4 months. Terrible on the highway, can’t handle big tires, and armor/gear overweighs it. I feel liked I drank the koolaid and made a terrible decision
