In Order, You've seen Twisted Fate in "Don't Mess with Yordles" and in Bilgewater's cinematic from "Tales of Runeterra". He's Graves Partner in crimes. The cards he use are references to his gameplay, the Red Card deals normal Damages (like an arrow), the blue one deals magic damages (like a magic missile), and the gold one stuns the ennemi. Fiddlestick is the Old version. The new is the one you've seen in his cinematic. And it's way better, in every ways. The unique crow was his "Q" ability (game is played with QWER for attacks), and the crow flock (I think it's the correct term) was it's "R", it's Ultimate. Purple Dude, aka Ryze, we'll talk about him after you see "Call of Power". Just know he was already around during the Runes War, 3000 years prior to now. And like the others, the spells he use are canon, gameplay wise. The Shade is Nocturne, Demon incarnation of Darkness. Sadly, there's no other cinematic about him. The Darkness that make Ryze vision chaotic is Nocturne's Ultimate. You guessed right, Sassy Redhead is Katarina DuCouteau, proud assassin of Noxus that you've seen in "a new dawn", and his opponent is Garen Crowngard, a warrior from Demacia, that you've seen with his sister Lux (Luxana) in "Warriors". Katarina teleports to her daggers like that in the game too, Garen uses his blade spinning ability like always, and the sword falling from the sky is his "R", that you've seen hinted at in "Warriors" when Sylas steals Garen's "R", invocating a light-magic sword in his hand (Yes, Sylas can steal ennemy's ultimate) Then, You Have Tryndamere, sole survivor of his Freljordian tribe. The appearance he has in this cinematic his not his canon one, and is called "Demon-blade Tryndamere". The fact that he doesn't die from Garen's blade is because his ultimate allows him to cheat death and become unkillable for a short amount of time. Annie, we'll talk about her after you've seen "Annie : Origin". Prepare to cry. Her fire ball is her "Q", and summoning Tibbers (the Bear) is her "R". Finally, the hydra thing is the Baron Nashor, King monster of the Jungle (the jungle in the game, not sure he lives in a jungle in Runeterra's Lore).

This one was made quite a long time ago, when riot was still making animations on the game itself. Not only does it feature random champions bashing their heads together for no reason but it also conveys how it feels to play with or against them, which is pretty neat. For instance Katarina is just as quick, jumping around all the time and hard to hit as portrayed here while every fight against Garen usually end with a giant magic sword falling from the sky to kill you (yes that is kinda cheating :D) And Tryndamere also just gets even angrier after you kill him, Annie throws giant teddy bears at you and even the Hydra-monster is in the game. So this is one of these classic cases of "if you dont play the game you only get half of what there is". Nowadays they have moved on to showing what the characters are actually like in the world of Runeterran, which is entirely seperated from the gameplay. Which has definetly been an upgrade to their animations imo, even tho its still fun to watch these older ones ^^

the scene in the ruins with the blue mage and the black spirit thingy: that is the rune mage Ryze and the demon Nocturne. at the beginning Ryze suffers from Nocs ulti paranoia, which disables the vision of all enemies (in game everything but the direct surroundings of ur char are in the fog of war), indicated by his eyes turning black. after the spell runs out, ryze fights back with his trade mark prison/stun spell and some magic bolts. Ryze actually is one of the most important characters of lol in a bigger picture. he is very old (he was an apprentice mage during the rune wars, which occured about 900 years before the current timeline and originally he was from the blessed isles; before the ruination turned them into the shadow isles) and immensly powerfull. he has sworn to protect the world from magic destruction after witnessing the horrors of the rune wars. Therefore he gathers all worldrunes he can find and collects them in a save vault, to keep them out of ambitious mages hands. for that reason the world of runeterra would probably not exist anymore if Ryze hadnt done this

YES! LET'S GO! One of my favorite videos for no good reason. (This is a quick summery and a lot more could be explained but I don't have the time or determination for that right now) That first part was Twisted Fate and Fiddlesticks before his rework and reskin. The second part, the guy you see running is Ryze. The black around his eyes was because of Nocturne, the demon behind him. Nocturne affects your dreams and causes you to see things. If you saw, Ryze kept trying to shake his head and get the visions out of his head. With the third and final part, first we see Garen and Katarina fighting. It has been a love hate relationship between them. Garen is part of Demacia and Kat is part of Noxus. The guy with the sword who saved Kat was Tryndamere. The angrier he gets, the faster he heals so when Garen ran him through with the sword he just got angrier and kept on fighting. Then Annie came along and blasted him with her fire magic. Then Tibbers (the bear) was harled into battle. She captured that beast long ago and keeps him as a teddy bear. Then Baron Nashor came up and ate him. If I recall correctly, this was a teaser for a few things that were being added to the game of LOL so it wasn't going to full explain everything for you. This is not all of the lore because I don't have a lot of time to write paragraphs of it but here's the main parts of it.

You've definitely seen a lot of these guys before, a lot of them are pretty popular characters in the game and so make it into cinematics and trailers like this. A few of them have their own videos completely dedicated to them, like Annie (little girl with the BIG teddy bear) and Ryze (the purple-skinned rune mage), but the others mostly show up in ensemble vids like this one. Funny thing about Tryndamere, the dude with the huge sword who avoids dying by simply being too angry to let it happen lol, the version of him in this video isn't even his "canon" look. For whatever reason (let's face it, it's probably because of how freakin COOL he looks like this) they chose to use the way he looks in one of his custom skins. Normally he's just a kind of barbarian king of one of the far northern tribes, kind of vaguely Norse looking with a horned helmet and armor that leaves most of his chest bare (wielding a completely normal greatsword)...but THIS version is a cosmetic customization you can use in the game where he's got kind of a Nightmare from Soul Calibur theme going on where he's half-possessed and all mutated with tentacles and stuff holding that nasty-looking blade you see in the cinematic. Oh, and I'd like to lend my endorsement to the Arcane series on Netflix, whenever you guys get around to checking out full shows. Just the first 3 episodes are out so far, but they are FANTASTIC. The animation is BEAUTIFUL and the stories/characters are all REALLY well-done. This kind of thing is EXACTLY why companies like Blizzard and Riot have had entire comment pages on every one of their big cinematics of the last 10 years, all telling them "HURRY UP AND MAKE A MOVIE OR SHOW ALREADY". Arcane is exactly what we were hoping for, such an awesome glimpse into the world of League of Legends, showing stuff you'd normally only ever just read in a biography section lol.

This purple guy is Ryze, he is using Runes as his magic. The hot chick is Katarina, she is an asassin - thats why she is moving that fast. The guy with giant sword is Tryndamere, when he got stabbed he use his ultimate (in the game it works like when u have low hp, you activate this spell to live 5 sec longer without taking any dmg - u basically use it to deal extra damage for 5 seconds or try to escape). And this huge monster is Baron Nashor, he is in the game in the pit (just like dragons he is an Epic monster). Baron is usually spawned at 20 minute of the game and most likely the whole team is needed to kill him ang get a very strong bonus in the game.

Twist of Fate and A New Dawn were the cinematics that kicked off the current generation of modern League cinematics. They kicked off the big budget quality upgrade in the cinematics but were well before the cinematics were more tied into the lore. Just a showcase of semi-random champions from the game.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames because I don't think I've seen anyone else explain it yet, the short version of it is that Twisted Fate was originally Tobias Felix, from a nomadic people of the Serpentine Delta. He has some sort of innate magic power related to playing cards. Naturally, from an early age, he used this to become the most successful gambler in the area. Over time he pissed off the wrong casino bosses, and they came for him in his people's camp. Tobias was a coward and fled during the attack. When he came back to camp, he was exiled for his cowardice in refusing to face the consequences of his own actions. He then became a drifter, making a living by gambling. Then, at one table, he met a man named Malcolm Graves. The two quickly became partners in crime and spent years running cons and heist across Bilgewater and the eastern coast of Valoran. Then one fateful night, the two attempted a particularly dangerous heist. Only TF and Graves themselves know exactly what happened, but at the end of the night Graves was carred away to prison and Tobias and their other accomplices ran free. TF tried to break his partner out but was unsuccessful. Feeling a mass of guilt and shame for what he had done, he discarded his previous identity in the waters of the Serpentine River and was reborn as Twisted Fate. He continued crime as a solo act. He wasn't nearly as successful as with Graves but he made do. Much later, in Bilgewater (during the events of Burning Tides), Twisted Fate was cornered by a freshly escaped Graves, pissed off and seeking vengeance (in fact, they'd both been manuevered into place by Miss Fortune as a distraction to flush out the Reaver King Gangplank.) The pair managed to reconcile, and are now back on friendly, if shaky, terms (as shown in "Double Double Cross" and "Don't Mess With Yordles;" both of those take place after Burning Tides). Also, they were originally intended by their writer to be a married couple back when Graves was introduced in 2013 (TF was part of the starting lineup in 2009), but the idea was repeatedly shot down by corporate. They're still an incredibly popular fan pairing though. I mean... just watch them in Tales of Runeterra. I've never seen stronger "bickering married couple" energy in my life.

The soldier guy is Garen and his ultimate ability is to slam his sword down and a giant sword falls from the sky :D. And the other guy with the Sword is Tyndamere he can become immortal for a short time with his ultimate that's why he survived being stabbed. And the girl with the red hair is Katarina you have seen her before in other cinematics.The little girl is Annie with her bear Tibbers she can call him down and do a lot of damage and then he fights along side her for a while if he doesn't get eaten :D. The mage is Ryze.

Okay in the order of when they are introduce I will Tell you their names First w have Twisted Fate ( Gambit/Van Helsing Hybrid), of course the second one is Fiddlesticks ( old version), Third Ryze ( A Mage ), Fourth is Nocturne (a demonic amalgamation Kind of Like Freddy Krueger), Fifth is Garen ( you saw him in warriors, and when he puts his sword in the floor that is his ultimate ) sixth one is Katarina (she is an assassin for Noxus and both her and Garen love each other but he is part of Demacia which would not work. The forbidden love of these two are because Noxus and Demacia are two who hate each othe.) Hey you two, still love u reactions x) A Twist of Fate is the second Cinematic of League and showcases teh Duels between Champs and is portraing in a very great Style the Champion Abilitys they use in Game. First we s Ding Ding: Twisted Fate fighting against the Original Version of Fiddlesticks thowing his Cards at the "Crowstorm. After that u see how TF holds a yellow Card in his Back and Fiddle starts with an Autoattack. The Yellow Card does a Stun. Second ist the fight between Garen and Katarina (Archenemys in the Lore and she was the only Person ever who could stand against Garen the might ofDemacia on the Battlefield and no one could ever archieve victory) U see Katarin teleporting around and attacking from all sides and Garen does his unfamous Spin to Win moves to destroy her swords. Later u see him dropping his Sword what is his Ultimate ability Demacian Justice. Third u see how Garen wants to finish the Job and Tryndamere in his Legendary Demonblade Skin stopping him. (If u pay attention u see they made it so the weapon is blinking and breathing, kinda Awesome) Tryn hits incredibly hard as u see (He is made around critical Strikes that truly hurt) and as it is in the game he busts Garens ass around, and Garen arhcieves th drop his HP to zero but Tryns Ultimate Ability is to get Immortal for a short period of time (When he starts to shine and beats Garen through the wall). The fourth is Annie attacking Trnyda from the Side with a fireball, then Throwing Tibber (What is her Ultimate Ability) to Attack Tryn. The last is the arrival of Baron Nashor, who is no Champion u can play but a Boss Monster in the Summoners Rift, if beaten gives the Team a strong Buff for a short time to push back the enemy team. There u see that all remaining Champions attack together because not all Champ are able to solo him in the game. There u see if u again pay attention to it that Tryn does a Spin Attack, that is another of his abilitys a whirlwind attack. That much about a Twist of Fate. My personel favorite Cinematic of the old times.

This video is one of leagues really old ones, before they developed most of the lore. I think this was to announce the Baron being added to the game (the giant monster at the end) So there isnt much reason to most of the scenes

This is old cinematic of Riot. They simple description action scenes on the game. After Riot focus more on building legends of champion. Cinematic becomes more meaningful. Each character has their own painful past. eg Annie (little girl with Tibbers ). She is known as THE DARK CHILD. She had a full of pain and lost childhood. Katarina (girl red hair - yep she hot) is a female general of noxus. This is Mel Medara hometown.

Twisted Fate (Gambit rip-off) is Graves partner-in-crime He was fighting OG Fiddlesticks who was intended to be a bit more silly before they reworked him into an demonic horror Ryze is purple man, named after the CEO of Riot. League has no "main character" but he's a close contender. Watch "Call to Power" it's a more current portrayal of him and explains his role in Runeterra Nocturne is the shadowy demon thing Ryze was fighting. He can blind everyone on the map with his ultimate ability hence the Darkness Garen (armored sword man) and Katarina (leather jacket knife woman) are secret lovers from Demacia and Noxus. Well they were... then it got retconned... but Riot still teases them as lovers. Them trying to kill each other makes little sense. But this was when Demacia were the generic "good guys" and Noxians were "pure evil" it's aged poorly nowadays. Tryndamere is angry man with sword arm. He is actually being portrayed here in a skin Riot is trying to sell called Demonblade Tryndamere. In reality Tryndamere is a pretty bland viking lookalike, that literally can become so angry that he cannot die. He's named after Riot's other co-founder/CEO. Annie is the little girl with the teddy bear. She has a cinematic too. It's very sad and it's called "Annie: Origins". I'll let it speak for itself when you get to it. Big snake demon Void monster is called Baron Nashor. When you kill it in game you get super minions that help you push lanes faster and win the game. It's not a champion you can play, but an objective on the map you have to fight for.

I have a REQUEST !!!! Its a little more on the easy going side. Maybe something tonsave until something like Earth day. But, 'Everwild'. Also, DOTA was based on Warcraft 3, which had an amazing map creator. But, DOTA was based on that software. Layer, Blizzard would steal that game concept back in HEROES OF THE STORM. You would probably get a kick out of the Blizzard cinematics for HotS.

The Demon Guy was tryndamere that sword became his arm because Aatrox made him that way by mutating his spirit. in the beginning it was Garen (average pretty boy) vs Katarina (red head ninja girl). purple guy is Ryze. the guy with no legs chasing ryze was Nocturne he is the spirit that lives in the darkness. and the little girl is Annie and her bear's name is Tibbers it was infused when she realized her power too late after she caused her house to burn down which ended up killing her father her stepsister and later her step mom so the teddy bear was there to comfort her through everything and the bear is Tibbers when she calls upon his rage he defends her. the Giant Purple Lizard at the end was Baron Nashor its one of the side objectives on the map Summoners rift he provides a Huge buff to the team that kills Him giving that teams minions a huge defence and attack bonus with a bit of movespeed. as far as i know thats everything i know. and the Guy with the playing cards is Named Twisted Fate hence the Name of the cinematic and he is versing the original fiddlesticks with crowstorm. @DefinitelyNotDefinitive

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames thats kind of because Tryndamere is a Badass his ultimate makes him unkillable for 7 seconds and his Q is a self heal in game based off his blood rage which he passively gains for attacking monsters or enemy players, thats why when hes glowing red in the eyes and roars/battle screams like that its his ultimate kicking in which he can use to finish a kill or escape dying like a last resort kinda deal.
