Same. TW3 was my all-time favorite for a long time. But CP2077 game slowly took its place. I am still much more invested in The Witcher as a franchise/lore but as like a singular standalone game, I feel like CP2077 gave me more even though it's shorter/smaller in scale. TW3 made me go read the books and whatnot to fully appreciate Geralt, Ciri, and Yen on another playthrough. Meanwhile, everything I needed to fully enjoy V's story is already in the game. Beginning to end. Even the romance options you experience it blossom for the very first time and then see where it goes. Techincally, TW3 game formula but continuous first person format goes hard. I love it.

For me personally Cyberpunk 2077 is my favorite game of all time. I've got over 1700 hours(no that isn't a typo), with 300 of those hours just since Phantom Liberty dropped. And I'm still continuing to play because there really is just so much variety in how you can play, and just how immersed in the world you want to be. Night City is my home, and I know it better than any place I've ever lived in real life. I'm heavily into open world RPGs and there really isn't another game out there that feels like this one if you really immerse yourself in it, talk to everyone, read everything, really learn what the world is about. It's an experience and the stories will break your heart. There's a reason you'll see hundreds of comments on the videos of the end credits songs here on youtube(Never Fade Away and Phantom Liberty) of people saying they felt completely empty and broken by the time the end credits rolled and the songs came on.

I agree, and if we consider the phantom liberty game ending to be canon, V could be alive somewhere in night city during the sequel project orion, id imagine V to be some mysterious big shot fixer like rogue, with a story passed into legend or myth, their true life story only known by few. maybe when walking into afterlife you could talk to claire and shed say you remind her of V when they started out or something like that, maybe viktor would say something similar, or other fixers still around like hands or regina. I cannot wait till the cyberpunk sequel is all im trying to say. Night city is the real protagonist and i want to see it bring comedy and tragedy to all its inhabitants

Yes, melée builds are extremely viable and a lot of fun. If you follow the example of David Martinez from Edgerunners and kit yourself out with a Sandevistan, the speed at which you can shoot is still limited by how fast the action of the firearm cycles. A sword, though - you can swing that insanely fast with the Sandy active.

guns used to be bad in sandy because it would slow mo them as well.. but with 2.0 that was fixed... now sandys do work in guns.. i rock a shotgun sandy build and it shots as normal... the only thing that didnt work "normally" was throwing knifes as that would still be slowmo even in 2.0 ... however in 2.1 they got added to sandys as well... so now u can go bananas on everyone

This game has improved so immensely since launch it's honestly astounding. It's such a shame the dev team wasn't given the time they needed to complete their vision and the game was shoved out the door by greedy executives. Thankfully, they were given a second chance and after years of patches, it's a really fantastic world to get lost in.

Played the game and loved it before the expansion. I was undecided if I wanted to jump right into the expansion on day 1 due to the OG launch of the base game being buggy as hell. However, that all changed once I seen that cinematic trailer with Idris Elba on the train. They caught my interest with a fish hook. The expansion itself was nothing short of having one of the greatest immersive experiences in gaming I've had to date. 11/10 would recommend! My favorite quest is a side quest that involves swapping faces with a VIP. There's more to it but I'd rather not spoil the fun.

Gameplay variety is huge in this game. You can kinda do whatever, my character is a ninja with optical camo, throwing knives, a sword, and sandy. But you can do a “Lucy” build and use quick hacks (basically magic) and a monowire whip, you can do a David build and use nothing but your sandy and bare cyber-hands to take everyone out. You can focus on any type of weapon and build around those, and combine play styles as well. Like using quick hacks to take control of cameras and mark enemies in a building, then use an energy sniper rifle that shoots through walls to take them all out from hundreds of yards away.

there are three "origins" that give you occasional dialogue options, and have a different beginning of the game: Street Kid Corpo Nomad i have played through this game as each, full playthroughs, i have about 250 hours in cyberpunk, and i can say it is one of my favorite games ever, no other game has gotten me so invested in the story and characters and hit my emotions so fucking hard, it is magnificent (this game has made me cry so many times, in the best way) for the gameplay, there are multiple ways to approach each mission/gig; you can be super stealthy, and get active camo, or you can go guns blazing, or be a cyber hacker (netrunner) and just hack everything and everyone

This was an excellent expansion, places V in a situation where you feel like a fish out of water a brazen merc learning the ropes in a kill or be kill game of spies Mission: Impossible/James Bond style, it brings the NUSA into the story which is a plus. Idris Elba's character is really deep second only to Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand was already an phenomenal character in the base game and he gets a whole new dimension here as well that I feel explored the character better than his original arc in the base game. Plus you get two new endings for the base game if you complete the expansion depending on your choices in Phantom Liberty, all on top of the four endings that already existed for Cyberpunk 2077. It's good. So Mi betraying Solomon isn't really a spoiler either because there is so much more to the story and it's really just a set-up, the base game cinematic trailer you already saw also "spoiled" the intro of the game, but it's so early on that it's really not that big a deal

Finally beat the game again.. Which means that I've now put in over 400 hours to Cyberpunk.. As someone who was pretty cold on the original release, this final update and expansion has turned it into one of my favourite titles in recent history. For all their issues, CD Projekt Red know how to write a damn good story with some real emotionally driven scenes. Phantom Liberty is them at their A game.. The endings to the expansion definitely outclasses a lot of other media in their cinematography and direction.

You might also want to check "Dawid Podsiadło, P.T. Adamczyk - Phantom Liberty (Official Cyberpunk 2077 Music Video)" from official Cyberpunk 2077 YT channel, which in slightly different form (like 2-3 scenes differ a little) is played during closing credits when you finish Phantom Liberty. It adds that "spy thriller" vibe. Also it's spoiler free. As for game itself - they really improved with patch 2.0 that came out with Phantom Liberty. And CDPR has done a great job with earlier patches as well. There're still some issues that can happen when playing, but at this point it's more of a flavour that game just has. I already liked the base game anyway despite all those issues (I was also one of lucky few to not have many during playthrough on release version) and expansion is really amazing with ending (especially one) that broke me emotionally. It's first time I had post-game depression in very long time. One things that saddens me however is that perfmormance of Idris Elba was kinda lacking. Other voice actors did much better job.

Played more than 1000 hours. And I'm not tired yet. I intend to start a new playthrough to see things I haven't seen (depending of choices made in-game) yet. Even after 1000 hours. Finished the game for the first time on April 2021, and at this exact moment, I learned that my own Dad passed away. Since then Never Fade Away (the chill version, this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYLEhHSDebpjf7csi=OHzmuOqdO_AhiO2E) became both for the music and the lyrics, a posthum hymn for him. Each time I listen to this song, I remind my beautiful memories with my father (and, not each time but still, I easily cry). Anyway, if you feel you could like this game by watching the trailers, you owe yourself to make it at least once (knowing that finishing it once makes you willing to start a new game, to see other things you didn't in the first place).

To kind of elaborate on the game, first of, yeah you play as V and only V. You can choose how V looks, lack for a better word, gender all that but it's V's story. That said, how you build V throughout the game is up to you and you can make V pretty broken in both directions to be honest. Like a hypothetical example, V gets a gig to flatline some scav leader that is making xbds for the black market and he's hold up in some warehouse in northern Night City. You can handle it by 1. Running in like a crazy person and kill everyone doing your best Rebecca impression. 2. You can go in like a ghost and pick people off without anyone knowing your there. 3. You can sit in your car and hack everyone in the place with lethal malware through the surveillance systems like Kiwi (which is scary thinking about). But on top of that there are sub potions or hybrids. Like if you choose option 1 you can go in with a berserk mod and gorilla arms and punch people to death like some high tech King Kong or you can get a sword and a sandi and be a crack addled samurai that cuts up enemies when time is almost frozen. Or you can go in with mono wire and use hacking with the wire to cut people up as their weapons and cyberware malfunction like Lucy. There are a lot of options and the game really lets you max out 2 or 3 attributes that govern your build. Not going to say it's the most complex game ever when it comes to build variety, it's not even close but it's a very good mix without becoming so complex you need a guide to get started. it just has that problem a lot of sandbox games have where at the start you are hyper weak but at the end, unless you totally screwed something up, you're hyper strong so the game tends to be at it's best mid game. But really the gigs and side missions are where the game shines. So it kind of elevates you becoming a god end game which to me is fun for all about 20 minutes.

The game as a whole is my personal favorite game ever. It has plenty of bugs and flaws, but I love all the good stuff in it.

You don't play as Idris's character, but you interact with him alot, in the Cyberpunk expansion.

The Ground Game was Fantastic, but have a Lots of Bugs, but has great Storylines. The Addon / dlc, Phantom Liberty, was Fantastic too, in my Opinion, a litte bit better than the Ground Game. I Startet it on the Hardest Mode and was hard as fuck XD . But the Story from the dlc was very good implemented. The Last Part from Phantom Liberty was more like a Horror Game, than a SciFi Action Game, but i Love it ^.^. I didn't know all these Trailers, but the CGI Trailer was Heartbreaking in the Fact, that He was tricked. In the Game was talking about of the Situation from the Trailer. It was a Pleasure to me, to play this Game and i will be played minimum 2 Times ... i have the "Corpus" Campaign open (2 times "Nomade" and "Street Kids" are done (respectively Male and Female, to take all the Storystuff ^.^)).

One of my problems with the DLC is pretty much So Mi. She betrays *everyone*. How blind everyone is to it feels almost like a plot hole. The motif for the DLC is "Trust no-one" yet everyone trusts So Mi unabashedly.

They literally get wise to her scheme during the party but decide they have to go on with the plan anyway. It’s only a blindside because you also betray Reed if you side with her. She “betrays” you by lying about the cure, but I saw that coming, and decided to help her anyway, because V pretty clearly sympathizes with her plight and also because I really did not like how Reed did things or his pissant worldview. She’s not trustworthy, everyone knows it, but they’re forced to work with her because she is in fact the operational objective.

I was really surprised at how subtly villainous they made Idris Elba’s character. I fuckin’ hated that guy by the end. And he doesn’t even do anything *really bad,* certainly nothing that would fuck with a merc’s scruples. But basically every word out of his mouth is a lie, and not self-serving lies. He barely even recognizes them as lies, and he’s lying to you for the benefits of a system that ate him up and spat him out, for the benefit of a dictator who ordered his death and whose side he still heels to. He’s a fucking military dog and I can’t stand him.
