But you're right, they could’ve just claimed the revenue from Strawhat V’s fan-made vid instead of totally taking it down. It did a fantastic job attracting new fans without any major spoilers, unlike TOEI's 25th-anniversary vid, which had loads! 😬 It's a shame, especially since that fan-made vid took over three months of love and passion to create. I think Strawhat V deserves some kind of credit or appreciation from TOEI, even just a little recognition, in my opinion. I know it's their materials but still-🥹

The first season of Netflix One Piece takes place in East Blue. This is the most peaceful and tranquil of the seas, so all of the islands they run into are relatively ordinary run of the mill villages without too deep of a culture. Once they step into the Grand Line is where everything escalates and they start visiting places that are more full on nations with rich history and culture, and encounter more wild and exotic environments and nature. It only ramps up from here.

Something amazing about One Piece is that the author, Oda, still enjoys writing/drawing the story 27 years into it, basically week-to-week! over the last 2 decades, he has repeatedly estimated he would start the final saga within 3-5 years. He said that when he gets an idea for a story, character or island that he likes, he can't not draw it! And we thank him for that :D

A lot of people love the world of One Piece. But no one loves it more than its creator Oda, the man has made a literal modern Odyssey almost completely by himself. He poured his very soul into the fabric of the story and characters which comes across in every way as a true thing of beauty.

The Odyssey is the original grandiose romantic adventure, it's crazy, larger than life, hell it's even going from island to island too. Tolkien is much more grounded and display a bittersweet world. The hobbit would probably be closer than LotR but it still has a lot of those elements imo. The Odyssey is really the closest match there is.

What amazing about One Piece is each island has its own history its own culture its own story. And they continue to have theirbown plots happening throughout the story even outside the Strawhats interactions with them. He's made one of the most believable cohesive immersive world's ever created. If you ever decide to delve into the anime i recommend what some other resctors do and watch 2-3 episodes a day. One streamer uploads 2 episode reactions a day and she's already nearing 500 episodes in her first year of watching it.

oda enjoys a level of freedom in this work that many other mangaka does have. he doesn't have a deadline or forced to put out subpar work. oda has been telling this story the way he wants, in the time he wants to tell it. there is a reason why its the highest selling manga of all time. one piece is art and one of the greatest stories ever told.

the world of one piece is around 2.7 the size of are world. most islands are about 3 days away on the good sailing time. plus looking at the true globe of the world, it will have a one wrap around land and one wrap around water with all other seas being cut in 4 to make the each of the seas.

Its a definitely a beautiful world, i manged to get caugh up 2 years ago and this was around i think episode 1010 or swomewhere around there and it was an amazing, fun, emotional ride. If you have problems with the episode count, wit studio is making a one piece remake, the toei anime (same company of dragon ball) has episodes that only adapt one page of the manga because they don't wanna catch up with the manga in terms of publication, other anime can adapt 3 or 4 chapters of a manga in one episode, so the remake can have a better pacing from the beggining and with top tier modern animation because they will start from the east blue (live action plus loguetown that will be the first episode of season 2 adapting the last arc of the east blue saga).

I finally got done watching all 1,073 episodes of the dubbed anime to just realize that it is in the middle of a storyline and there is still more to come. I was hoping that with over 1,000 episodes that it would have been over with the amount of episodes. However, the story just kicked up a notch, so I am looking forward for it to continue. It has been a fantastic story exploring all the lands you just saw in this video and I can see the possibility of the live action going for a very long time, but still emphasize that it is a major time commitment due to pacing for the anime and I even started watching it at 1.25 speed after the first 150.

Saying this doesn't have spoilers is not accurate. It really depends on your attention to detail. For example, without spoiling anything as long as you don't go back looking for it, there are a couple of shots of the Straw Hats showing members who haven't joined yet in the live action, but they are blink and you miss it moments. There are a couple of other spoilers, but your brain has to be really engaged.

if you're a newbie watching this you wouldn't know those were straw hats tho, they are just random characters for people who don't know them and everything else flashes by so quick you don't have time to fully process it, unless you're already familiar with the source material. the main stuff i would consider actual spoilery in this is the shots of the sky islands since their existence is kept as a bit of a surprise/mystery for a while in the manga and one of the shots with luffy as a kid

Nami's dream is considered to be the most difficult along side finding the One Piece. Mostly bc she can only achieve it once Luffy becomes the Pirate King since she needs the freedom of a Pirate King to travel all around the world. Also when you understand how myterious and unexplored the world is later on. It'll be even more evident just how difficult her dream actually is. It might sound fairly easy but it really isn't.

Oda said the manga is going to finish around late 2024 to early 2025. But it could take slightly longer. Nevertheless, if you want to react to the anime. Now's the time. Just in case if the ending is going to be crappy. But it's the journey that I watch it for, and hopefully the climax does not disappoint. I'll warn you since you've watched the live action show. The first 30 or so episodes are pretty slow pasted. But the humour, action, and dialogue is a lot better than the live action version. Plus, you get a lot more characters, and fights. Even Luffy Vs. Arlong is a lot more hyped in the anime. There will also be a lot of filler episodes (Anime exclusive material that's not from the manga). But I'm certain that you can find a website guide to help you cut it out of your reactions. About 30% of the anime is filler. So don't be intimidated by the large episode count.

ain't no way it's ending 2024, it's absolutely impossible, he's been saying 5 more years for the past 10 years now so never take what he says at face value ( especially since he also enjoys trolling us), he also takes health related breaks more frequently now than in his youth so yeah... 100% guaranteed it's not ending 2024 and most likely not 2025 either. personally I think another 3 years( including this year) is how long it would take to wrap everything up nicely at the bare minimum, that's taking break weeks into account as well.

I would rate One Piece as an A-Tier. Probably B-Tier if I I want to be more strict. But not S-Tier. Very good? _Yes._ Very popular? _Yes._ Is this the best anime ever made? _No I don't think so._ ... It is like comparing novels against short stories, even if both are written by the same writer, short stories will have higher quality. Because short stories are short, everything have to be neat, there is little room for mistakes. The writer has to compress everything into a short writing, and makes them all have meaning, and makes them in harmony with each other, and to create a general theme, general purpose, and then make the punchline too. ... So for an anime to be good, it has to only has a single theme and purpose for the entire anime. Every single word, every single action, every single song, and every single character - their background music, the way they walk, the way they joke, even when they lift a stone and put it back, every random thing they do - has to be calculated. Even a bystander in the street, a random thing they say might reveal something hidden about the plot or the main characters. ... One Piece's story is good, the world building is good, but the story is too long and it has too many characters. It cannot avoid having drawbacks.

strong disagree, while there are some tiny inconsistencies or retcons here and there, the mere fact that a seemingly random line by a character from 10 years ago was foreshadowing events that are now being revealed to us is insane and it's what makes one piece s-tier. writing a short story is monumentally easier than creating a manga weekly for over 20 years with this high quality of writing and world building. like if someone creates a near perfect bust of a president, ultimately mount Rushmore will still be significantly more impressive even if it might have some imperfections for example

@@666FallenShadow I won't force my opinion on you. There are drawbacks for being too long, for example: ~ Being repetitive is one, flashback and sad stories for every one again and again. Why does it looks like every one has to have a sad story, why does every one has to cry their heart out every single time? ~ Secondly, too many characters. It's been really hard to remember some small characters in some small remote villages the Cast have visited. ~ We won't even remember the Village's name, let alone the characters' names, but we had to watch every single one of their sad stories! Come on. ~ Some of the animations are so bad it is annoying. Also I'm tired of watching well endowed ladies with boobs bouncing every single time they move. ~ What is the point of the anime? Is it friendship? Or chasing your dream? Or actually to find the One Piece? Because apparently it is about all of the above!!

@phloriaernas2149 that's part of the point, the world they live in is pretty fucked up and the system is broken so many people's lives are awful, congrats you discovered one of the main conflicts of the story. also if the characters had everything they wanted and perfect lives what exactly would even be their motivation to go on adventures and shit. While this is somewhat valid, usually the manga reminds you who a character or location is when they haven't appeared in a long time by giving you their name and location again This is just a continuation of your previous points and entirely subjective I was talking about the manga, which is what Oda actually makes, he has nothing to do with animation or the anime A story can have multiple points and themes, in fact most great stories do. Lord of the rings for example is about war, friendship, industrialisation and the destruction of nature and many other things. What a bizarre complaint to even make at all.
