my interpretation is that the mother was abused and became posessive of the girl, making her believe that the cops are monsters so she'll run from them. at some point the cops were called and the girl was saved.

So the mother was crazy or sick and she took her daughter away from her father or whatever and that's why the monsters that the lady talked about really just wanted to help her daughter from her mother wow this short is really good It took an unexpected plot twist, I liked this short, is it more like psychological horror or not? @Tammy2Tone Yes mom was abusive and a drug addict. We were seeing everything from the perspective of Sophia. Cops are scary when you're a kid but they saved me...Personal experience.

I think the mom was a kidnapper. What we are seeing is what the child is seeing. The monster was really a cop. When the mom said that they were here to take the girl away, she meant CPS (child protection services.)
