Chino is mexican as is his biggest influence zach of rage against the machine. Deftones got their name from lyric in rages bullet in the head.."sounding the deftone.."
@sharinglungs32263 жыл бұрын
@@marklewen4401 ahh none of that is true except their ethnic backgrounds. The lyric is “sounding the death tone”. Deftones were formed before Rage and Chino’s influence tend to be more like Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode, Morrissey of The Smiths, Duran Duran and generally new wave stuff. Rage is really more like his contemporaries but no doubt the whole Cali scene I’m sure they crossed paths many times coming up. Band name is kind of just slang of the time, def being a common slang term and tones being really old terms from like the sixties. It’s like how a record label called themselves defjam, similar meaning just they used Deftones instead.

@@jasong6967 maybe, just maybe, Adrenaline, their debut album, was not the first deftones album you ever heard.
