Gore was okay imo, with a few standout songs on the album. Although, Ohms definitely might be up his alley and is pretty consistent throughout. The final song on that album might be one of Deftones best songs.

This and Self-tiled are the worst moments for Deftones entirely for many different reasons, addictions, divorce, losing custody of kids and getting fined for their own mistakes. It almost lead Deftones to break up and for a brief moment members thought they did as chino left in the middle of recording to be with Team Sleep. “It was fucking horrible. To me it was horrible. You know why I don’t like that record? I didn’t believe in myself. I was put with three or four different writers [the band’s label and management at the time] made me believe I couldn’t write a song anymore. My real problem was I had a drug problem and I probably just needed help for that. But it got so much bigger, because instead of just getting over that, they made me believe I couldn’t make music any more. And I believed that! That record is so unconfident, that’s why I hate it. I don’t feel like it’s me-it’s this unconfident version of myself that doesn’t know what he’s doing or even believe in himself. It was horrible. It was the worst time in my life.” Even after all of this they managed to make their best aged albums of all time with hauntingly dark beautiful tracks these will all grow on you in one way or another.

Really wish the extended version of Natalie Portman (or live on the stage, whatever it's called on the CD) made the final album. It adds so much, that when I still used iTunes, I would go out of my way to rip the extended version off KZbin and swap it in the album tracklist. God that song bangs.

@@sassytabascoyeah, Natalie Portman is actually better than Live on The Stage. They have A LOT of unreleased/demo stuff that's really good. Here's a few of those from the top of my head: "No", "New Guitar", "Death by Plane", "Mercedes", "Iceache". I also made a playlist with the more obscure ones I found here on yt, but I can't remember if it's public. If it isn't, I'll make it public rn so you or anyone interested can check it out.

this album is the epitome of depression. makes me cry every time i listen to it. also, the lyrics to kimdracula are about quitting heroin. "i really wish these snakes were your arms" (snakes = needles) this album saved my life & pink cellphone is a great comedic break from the otherwise very depressing/manic album. a solid 10/10 for me.
