Gaijin broke that amazing plane back in 2013, allmoust 10 years ago. Never fixed it. It should be somwhere between Helldiver and late Corsair in performance, yet its engine feels like 1000hp instead of 2000.

Honestly surprised you never did any videos on the Me-410s. I know there well...... interesting planes to fly. I much prefer the Bf110s but still, it's technically the 'upgrade' from the 110s. Just a side note for statistical proof to show that I'm geniunely a good pilot now after 2 years of watching your content. And to flex. Obviously. I'm at level 75, but my K/D hovers between 4 and 5, and I'm frequently in the top 300 for the highest 'Number of kills to number of flyouts' (NOTE: this applies to my stats from 'last month' and my overall stats are obviously way worse, and I have only just reached early jets so you might argue that my K/D is higher thanks to 'weaker' opponents in prop battles)

my 5 cents are this: this was for a long time the only plane that was a single seat plane with 2 torps and for naval it was glorious to fall out of the sky with 800 km/h and ram those torps into the magazine of a BB. However a while ago the dive speed was nerfed sooo hard, it is amazingly bad now (really hard to break 500 km/h in a dive? While the drop speed of the torps was increased btw...)

It is the best US base bomber in AB. At it's BR it is 2/3 base every 30 seconds. And due to the cannons often you can kill one interceptor making the effort to get to you after that you are high enough to finish all bases.

BTD-1 is good for getting one bomber kill, killing a base with your naval mines, and then getting obliterated by three enemy fighters once you pull out of the dive

It is a very difficult aircraft to handle, but on the other hand it can handle a lot. This is my first plane, with which I learned torpedo attacks and landing on an aircraft carrier. It's a pity that he's currently thrown mainly by ordinary maps, not enough sea skirmishes for him. Operating from an aircraft carrier and naval battles are his element.

It always pisses me off when Gaijin nerfs vehicles to reduce its win rate. It's probably the laziest way to "balance" a game, especially one that relies on the variety of playable vehicles to thrive. This aircraft was one of the fastest piston-engined torpedo bombers the US Navy ever tested, capable of reaching a top speed of 344 mph. To put this into context, the BTD is just as fast as the Hurricane Mk II. If I'm not mistaken, Gaijin, in a bid to stop the B-29 being absolutely untouchable at 6.3, moved it to 7.3 and reduced its performance. How did they do this? By nerfing the R-3350 engine that the B-29 uses, obviously. However, the B-29 was not the only aircraft to use this engine. The R-3350 Cyclone was widely used by US Navy and Army Air Force aircraft, such as the B-24 Liberator and, well, the BTD. If Gaijin isn't going to prioritise accurate flight models in Air RB, they might as well ditch the whole "Realistic Battles" bullshit and stay with Arcade Battles then. 🤷

Cheat code: use the airbrake and you can turn quicker than A6M Zero for a few seconds until you waste your energy & speed (at speeds under 450 kph). Works really well to surprize some people.

The BTD is awesome. Got it for free and this thing PRINTS silver. You can almost always get a base kill plus ome or 2 player kills, and even alot of ground kills and ai air kills. Great bomb load, good guns, good ammo. What's the downside? People would do themselves good by playing less "optimal" vics.

thats a tactic they never see coming my best version of this was climbing vertically up a cliff face in a stuka with a fighter on my six that i just couldnt shake i dumped a bomb just as i was getting near the top of the cliff rolled cockpit to the cliff leveled off while inverted as i cleared the cliff the enemy tried to follow only to fly right into the blast as the bomb struck just bellow the top of the cliff i was shocked that it worked i thought i released too late and that it would overshoot the cliff face

I think something to hammer home along with the "not every fight is winnable" is the "WHY" behind it. The real reason is constraints and most importantly TEAMMATES. Yes, technically in a vacuum you could use player psychology and bait your opponents and look at their stat cards and be a little tryhard shit using your airfield as perfect cover yadda yadda. But you only have 30 minutes. You only have however many thousand tickets. The final piece is your teammates, they are wholly out of your control, and as much as this game seems to be "solo" it really just boils down to who gets the most 3rd party kills in the early game. 1v1 dogfights can give a numbers advantage when fought and won solo by the better pilot but if ANY player has braincells in a 2v1 the odds are shifted overwhelmingly in the duo's favor. There is no 1v1 mode in WT and until a day where it exists, you WILL get undeserved defeats (and wins) just because your teammates don't have 2 braincells to rub together.

Im still not sure if I regret my purchase of the BTD-1 for GRB. I just remember that it is definitetly a bomber with the survivability of a fighter, and not a fighter/bomber combo. Its purpose in GRB is to drop bombs and die to a Wirbelwind or Ostwind

G'day Defyn, While for CC's I'd you're one of the best fighter players for ARB. I gotta ask you ever use tandem missiles in aerial battles meaning do you use say an AGM then launch an AAM to follow it into a head on enemy? If so or not what are your thoughts on using such in a video someday. Examples takes a MiG-21PFM with a Kh-66 & R-3S or similar with a SAAB 105ÖE with RB-05 & AIM-9B or Milan with the AS.30 & AIM-9B.

I usually dive bomb a base from 15k ft. Climb back up and head to base unless I c a target of opportunity. Most times my team is wiped by then and I'm being chased back to base by multiple enemies. I return safe 90% of the time THANKS TO AA!

It can out turn things if it has energy and uses its flaps. It won't do so long because flap use murder any MER that the plane had. Once it gets below 250mph it can't out turn darn near anything that is a proper fighter.

Account level means nothing in this game. If you follow basic rules of air battles then you are better than 90% of playerbase. But then again, the better you are the more annoying the game becomes to the point where you will be more scared of AI than players. Also BRs higher than 8.3-8.7 DO NOT EXIST. Don't bother playing there.

Unfortunately it's a lot of experience and flying as many different planes as possible Asking/watching credible people will be enough in most cases tho but nothing beats feeling it yourself I am seeing if i can cover this topic in a few videos but it's a rather tall order

There are places but he gets it mostly from his experience of flying in the vehicles in question. He has played this game for about 5 years now. A good idea to learn quickly is to fly aircraft in test flights. A basic thing I do is climb an aircraft to 3km climbing at 170mph IAS. I then dive to the deck and test the aircraft's high speed handling in the dive before pulling out. I climb back up to about 2km and then dive again to see where I get the warning notifications for the flaps. I then do a few maneuverability tests before ending the test flight with a speed run to test overheating, MEC effectiveness and level fight top seed.

@@valrond Bombing is a LARP and is irrelevant to the outcome of games. You're basically playing a separate gamemode, yet you're taking up a slot on your team where a fighter should be. I play bombers too sometimes and it's fine to for fun, but don't act like you're playing well by using them as "intended"
