I assumed those is for shuffle beads. Held in at the back. Unlike most held at the front in which case this is no good

As someone who does have to change sealed units regularly, what is a Sheerframe window bead and how would I ID it?
@MistaSmiffTV6 ай бұрын
My double glazing looks completely sealed can’t see any strips that can be removed … is it this possible?
@soutoupvc6 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking the question! It is possible that it is a full welded system, but hard to say for sure without seeing the system. By all means get in touch directly if you would like us to review it in more detail. Thanks, The SOUTO Team

@@soutoupvc ahhh ok makes sense, looks like I have welded joints after doing more research and mechanical joints are now the norm, my windows are 25 years old

@MistaSmiffTV I know it's maybe a bit late but windows that old may be externally beaded. They used to pit the glass in from outside and put beads on the outside but burglars could pop the beads and remove the glass for access so they all changed to internally beaded.

or the bead is on the outside of the sash

@@woody1380 you’re right, external beading ☹️

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but just to let you know it is available from here: souto.co.uk/souto-deglazing-tool We also call it the Sheerframe tool, because that is the type of profile it is predominantly designed to work with... Thanks, The SOUTO Team

£50 for this tool is a rip off you could easily make this from a scrapper bent in a vice

It's bullocks, complete con. Do not ever try to remove your sealed units this way!

Been doing windows for 30 years never came to a problem of deglazing from glass side out. Never had problem deglazing any window. I dont have that tool.

@@johnjoyce2508 good luck taking out these beads with your chisel knife I got my company to buy one of these as we have some reverse beaded windows on a council contract and this tool is excellent as unlike normal beads you have to go in glass side to remove them
