I'm in tears right now. I use to be ashamed of my parents because my mom was a maid and my dad was a janitor. Neither graduated from high school. I'm Registered Nurse now. There struggle s motivated me to do what they didn't have the opportunity to do. This really hit home.

That means you have great parents. They made sacrifices so you didn't have to. My dad worked two full time jobs to keep a roof over our heads. I never understood why he drank so much coffee but now as an adult, I understand why he did, lol. He didn't graduate high school either, but did his best to take care of me and my siblings. I wouldn't be the man I am now if it wasn't for my dad. Also, congratulations on becoming an RN! That's a great accomplishment!

What's interesting is that after watching this speech and understanding his passion, he's doing it again as a coach, putting it all on the line, in a sense starting down a new path. He doesn't need the money and he's grossly underpaid at Jackson State but he doesn't care because it's about the game and about winning through dedication. This is a very special person.
