For all the defense and OLine issues that we’ve seen all year, Shedeur missed a wide open Travis Hunter on a 3rd and 6 play that would’ve ended the game in regulation. He further killed their chances by panicking and flinging a floater straight to the Stanford defender on 3rd down in OT. For those reasons he has to take responsibility for this loss. He gets the glory when they win so he should be held accountable for his game deciding errors.
@svelvet66
@svelvet66 7 ай бұрын
Every single player on every single team in every single game makes mistakes. So let me get this, this 1 player on offense should be held accountable for an entire unit (that he doesn't even play on) on defense, and according to u, he should be held accountable for his team's defense giving up 46 points. U sir and all the ppl who gave this comment a thumbs up need a brain transplant or a brain extraction altogether bcoz it's currently not doing any of u any good to have 1, based on the mind-boggling/head-numbing/head-scratching analysis u subscribe to. 99 percent of most offenses putting up 43 points a game is winning those games. Now you're gonna hold the QB (on offense) responsible for the defense, defensive coaches, and defensive coordinators' responsibilities? I see why 10-year-old children aren't given mics asking for their opinion on the outcome of games.

At the end of the day, whether you like it or not, Shedeur is the team's leader, and he will accept both positive and negative criticism. The team as a whole needs to maintain focus and discipline, as it has cost them games. In my opinion, the distractions of stardom have affected their overall discipline. The defensive coordinator seems to be struggling to align the team. The loss to Stanford was significant, especially considering they had a 29-0 lead. Honestly, I'm uncertain how they will recover from this setback, but it will require immense focus, discipline, and the same hunger they had at the beginning of the season.

I can’t fully imagine how coach Sanders feels having team members who can’t understand or have his passion. What coach Prime had (when he played sports) was a gift,talent and desire. These young athletes have different ideas and some don’t know who they truly are and until they do it is what it is. Mentoring goes a long way and it’s still up to the individual to accept what can truly develop them into who God designed them to be. Thanks Coach Prime for giving hope to so many. It's a different planet today. We no longer have that "it takes a village to raise a child" mindset. We respected elders who weren't our parents. Most teens today haven't grown up in a structure where they respect authority. Back in the day, Black males had stronger single parent Mothers they feared. Today these kids grow up in an environment where there's no authority figures so they clash with male authority types. Their Mothers are more like big sisters. That's what makes Prime so effective. You can't demand the spotlight then get mad when everybody lookin at you. In the 2nd half he didn't play with heart. CU scored once in the entire 2nd half. No comeback drive to seal the win, just a giant flop on BOTH sides of the ball. Yeah, the defense was the worse end of it, but if the offense tacks on even another field goal, CU wins in regulation.

In the 2nd half he didn't play with heart. " Kid is making $4.8M this year and likes to run his mouth and flash his wrist. He likes to be talked about for the Heisman. If you want to put yourself out there as something special, you HAVE TO SHOW UP WHEN IT COUNTS. That's something he's done up to this point in most of their games. In this game, in the second half, he folded. Sorry, but he gets SOME of the blame. Yes, the D gets most of it, especially Hunter. If Hunter doesn't commit a completely boneheaded personal foul, CU wins. That took Stanford from 4th and 22 and having to try a field goal, to 1st and goal and converting for a TD... without which Stanford loses in regulation.

I'm from the same era as Deion. He's older than me by four years, and as I'm driving on the busy roads, I can't comprehend why people find it necessary to have their phones in one hand, while trying to navigate through traffic during rush hour? They stall at the 'green lights' holding people behind them up, don't put on their turn signals before changing lanes because they're holding their phones, reduce their speed by 5-10 mph and hold up the lane... I don't get it, but this is the generation that we live in. These are young kids, but the people I notice on the roads are the ages of these kids parents. So.... Why do players have their cell phones OUT ON THE FIELD?!? Practice or whatever. I would not allow jewelry, cellphones, or nothing out on the field. 'The Field' is about BUSINESS and BUSINESS ALONE.

Travis was Travis. Stanford went to their guy who Travis had to cover which is an offense only player and a NFL prospect. Travis had to deal with him after playing both sides. Of course he was worn down, and I would have thought the coaching staff too would have noticed that, took him out and put one of their 'fresh' young men in his place. They didn't, and as a result of not doing that, Travis was getting 'burned' when it mattered for Stanford. The first half, I would have let Travis 'Eat' like they did, but the third quarter, I would have taken him out and put another (potential) fresh Dawg in his place to see what happened.

However, totally not cool how Stephen A Smiths additional comments are out of context and based on conjecture. It’s painting an unjustified picture for the public regarding Shedeur. He should know better considering his platform. Here's the problem Id like to point out...Shedeur is one of the more disciplined players on the team. He has to be. Prime would'nt have it any other way because he has to lead by example. Shedeurs NIL is worth over 4 million dollars. Why in the hell would he be posting merch on his social media himself? That man has people doing this for him and there’s nothing wrong with that. This is the age we live in. Damn smart move by his people! Colorado was ahead at the half...hell yea your guys gonna push that button and capitalize. We do not want people thinking Shedeur posted the merch himself at the freaking game at halftime! It was irresponsible and being a fake friend supporter to imply this. You had better believe folks will believe that and run with it! Smith got beside himself on this one and should have held back and gotten more perspective. Call Shedeur up and ask him what happened before having the public assume he posting merch at the half himself. Allow that man to explain why he authorized the business move. Simple.

I said it the 3rd quarter Friday night with CU vs Stanford, these guys are highly undisciplined except for three: Shandeur, Travis, and Shilo. Time spent 2 or 3 at a time grinding on discipline since CU has two weeks to get themselves together. Most of these guys haven't gotten their old habits and lack of discipline and frail commitment to consistency out of their system. This is a HUGE problem. During these two weeks focus on memory, consistency, and discipline must be the target. Most of these guys may not be self motivated to the intellectual aspect of the game. Hence, it's going to be a tremendous problem as a result. There's no reason Travis should have played nearly the whole game. He's just coming out from a serious injury and there should have been a goal to put Travis in the game with him working on his endurance by taking him out and putting him back in as part of a strategy. It was dumb to have him play the entire game through exhaustion. No one can expect to be a bionic man. Prime need to switch up on coaches. The one responsible for manning the number of players on the field needs to sit down and replaced. Making excuses for him by taking about how difficult and confusing it can be as justification to have fouls called and penalties given is inexcusable. He's paid good money to do his job. If it's so difficult why don't we have those errors made by every team as a consistent flaw of the game? Why is this a rare occurance in high school, college, and pro football. This is a pee wee league mistake. I believe this coach is a mole and is doing things to make Prime and the team look bad. He's okay with sabotaging Prime especially when he believes he should have been given the head coaching job in the first place. And of course he's going to act sad, mad, and disappointed when the timing is right. And yes he's going to walk up and down the sideline yelling at the team during plays. It's all an act. Prime has a lot of work to do. First, he needs to meet with each coach individually, their assistants, and next the team, the players and discuss performance, corrections, and future expectations. It needs to be a dialogue and not a one sided conversation. If not, the seats in the stadium are going to begin to be empty.

They got exposed a little too early from the early wins.. I understand the promo but the kids are taking advantage and got a false sense of security because of their coach and he tells them better !! He will get the players that will lock in!!

If several coaches were outspoken on Sanders use of the portal this past recruiting cycle I can't wait to see what he does this year. Chances are there will be another hugh personnel change in Boulder especially now that Prime knows what he has. Would also like to point out that there is nothing wrong with Prime building thru the portal, he is not breaking any rules and more power to him or any other program. Teams with good players but mediocre records better be leary of losing them.

The portal is NOT meant to bring in starters, it adds depth. If youre getting starters from kids that couldnt start where they left from, you have real problems. He CANNOT recruit is his problem. He has the 75th ranked class in the country fro 2024 according to 247sports. He has 9 commits, only ONE Olineman, a 3 Star.. Deion is NOT a good coach much less recruiter.

These are several QB stats from Saturday, October 14, 2023: Shedeur Sanders (400 yards and 5 touchdowns), Bo Nix (337 yards and 2 touchdowns), Caleb Willliams (199 yards, 1 touchdown), and Michael Penix (302 yards and 4 touchdowns). Shedeur finishes with more yards and touchdowns than some of the top QB in college football, so why is Smith criticizing him. We already know CU's defense is not up to par, nor is the OL. We also know the team has only been playing together for less than a year, so why so much negativity??!!

Win as a team, lose as a team. The media needs to stop protecting Shedeur. What they’re doing is creating a narrative that singles out one group and protects another. There are far too many distractions with this team as well. The lack of discipline is killing them, and whether we like it or not, that starts at the top. Coach Prime and the rest of the coaching staff are ultimately responsible for the players.

What Stephen A Smith is saying in this video is what I've been thinking all along. I am a HUGE CU BUFFS fan under Prime's leadership, BUT these young men are acting like they are already at the level of Deion or expecting it's going to happen automatically. What they fail to realize is that Deion 'Prime Time' Sanders actually put in the work, showcased his talents, showed up and showed out ON THE BIG FIELD of the NFL, and in THE BIG LEAGUE of the MLB! It's mighty arrogant of them, to have that 'my daddy is better than your daddy' mentality and associate who they are with that instead of 'Putting in the WORK' and solidifying their place towards the draft. For these young men... just because you have speed, hands, and high stats; doesn't mean you are a definite 'shoo-in' in getting selected the next level. Having a HOF'er as your coach is not going to make a difference either when the scouts are watching you in practice or your season game performances, and they see what they see..

I’m one million percent RIGHT, that Stephen A Smith called Deion Sanders before calling out Colorado players. And Deion gave him the ok to do so in order to put some pressure and motivation on them. This is the truth my friends

Players model their coach in every sport. That’s why they acting like Deion. They’re literally following his lead and matching his energy. They’ll be fine tho, but Deion has to be the one to put them in their place not the media and the fans.

@@chrisgreen177 That can only be achieved when Deion redefines his role as their coach. This team feels more like a family first and a football team second. Many of the players likely see him as a surrogate father or as Deion the personality/celebrity rather than their COACH. Only Deion can change that and I hope he does.
