Some kids today do appreciate great music from this era (because they were raised on it by their cool parents) and aren’t afraid to admit it. Others most certainly would appreciate it if we play it for them and teach them why it matters, how it’s crafted and how it’s executed. The question for the vast majority is, will they have any interest in “our” music? Maybe not. If they do listen and don’t like it then it’s too late, their brains are already inundated with the kind of music that dominates the billboard these days, plus what their peers listen to influences them hugely. It’s a different world now. There is no question that music from this era is superior in every way, but different generations appreciate different music for different reasons. Rather than worry too much about them, I will settle for feeling extremely grateful that we grew up when we did. It was an unprecedented time for so much great music. Remember how we were constantly exposed to new and fantastic music? It was coming out from so many artists and bands so quickly that it was difficult to keep up with. We were very lucky.

You mean the bridge? Love that bridge. Or is it not a bridge, since they do it twice?@@PhantomEyce
@RobertVincentMusic3 ай бұрын
@barryisroff7336 I heard an interview with Justin Currie, the lead singer/songwriter.. and he referred to it as a bridge. The song was heavily influenced by the Beatles.. starting with that opening chord, similar to Hard Days Night. The format of the song came from We Can Work It Out.. with a major key for the verses, and then switching to a minor key for the bridge. Justin is a huge fan of The Beatles.. and wanted to write a song with a Paul McCartney type of melody. Ironically, at first, he considered it a throwaway song.. but it ended up being their biggest selling single in the US.
