The reason for disallowing batting practice before the game is because the visiting team has no opportunity to take batting practice. The reality of the situation is that visiting teams arrive at the game anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour before game time. There is no way both teams can take infield and batting practice in that time frame. These are high school teams whose players actually have to attend classes on game day. Playoff dates and times are set by the CIF Section, not the schools. Invariably, the dates are during the week when school is in session. A school will let the players out early to travel to the game site, but they are NOT going to let them out early enough to take batting practice for an hour. That is just the way it is. The coaches know this and for the home team to have taken batting practice and received a forfeit is no one's fault except the coach.

That is a violation. Suck it up and take responsibility for pulling your players from class for BP. Coaches need to act like men, and take responsibility . Just because the visiting parents fought with the empire's doesn't mean you didn't break the rules.

The hardest part was determining where the high schoolers ended and the adults began in the video.

I have actually witnessed a physical fight between 2 parents at a T-Ball game where they don't even keep score. Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

It wasn't a "fight". It was an assault!!!

This kind of behaviour is why I pulled my son from T-ball, many years ago. The parents are the absolute WORST. The lack of respect and the number of people who think their child is the next million dollar player is too much. One parent showed up at a game with a gun to threaten an ump. He was arrested, but that was the last straw…… a Tball game. Really? They are teaching their children well…………. It’s a shame that the students pay the price for this bad behaviour

Assault on any official in any sport should be legally treated. Yes officials make mistakes like players do. Maybe parents should put on a coaches or officials uniform and see what it's like dealing with idiots.

If those parents were from the other team it is absolutely unfair and ridiculous for Del Campo to be punished.

It’s always the parents of kids who aren’t in combat sports who act the worst. You never see parents of karate and jiujitsu and kickboxing kids act like this lol

I just watched an assault. The people who attacked the umpire should be in jail.

Replay confirmed the call on the field! Ump should’ve sued those parents and than that school.

Honestly the home team should ensure the protection of the umpires, fans, and players.

So was anyone charged for assaulting the umpires? Only those involved should be punished.

Put him in jail, huge fine and ban him for life at children's events, I feel sorry for his wife and kids. You know hes abusive at home aswell. Terrible excuse of a father how embarrassing.

Regardless of what other actions are taken, the people in the video assaulting the umps should be identified, charged with assault, and banned for life from ALL school activities.

In New Jersey high schools the home team must make sure that the game officials are safe and protected after a game. They are responsible for security.
@mofo7689 Жыл бұрын
my point exactly. There is a bit of logistical activity that must be observed BEYOND actually playing the game.
@Swordsfor200Alex Жыл бұрын
Yes, in our state we have police officers there to protect the officials before and after the game.

So instead of pressing assault charges on those responsible, they decide to punish everyone else?

How screwed up does a person need to be to put so much of their own self-worth into the outcome of a high school baseball game? Attacking an umpire over a close call?

So why are the players punished for the parents actions? Charge the parents in the fight with assault and ban them for attending any future school events for anything.
