"I Go to Pieces" is a song written by Del Shannon which became a Top Ten hit for Peter and Gordon on 20 February 1965. Del Shannon had written "I Go to Pieces" for an R&B singer named Lloyd Brown whom Shannon discovered at a Michigan nightclub. Shannon arranged and produced Brown's recording but was unable to find a label interested in releasing the track. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Go_to_Pieces

I was just listening to my 30 year old Japanese CD, of Peter and Gordon's songs (20 of em), then this song came on. I was 11 when it came out, but all these feelings started coming out. I had to play it over and over. Such great lyrics. "I'm so lonely, think about her only". Then I ended up here listening to the master's Del's version. Never knew. Thank you. Bless Del.

Got my own start with this song the next year in 1990. Slowed it down similar to how Dean Dillon did when he recorded it a few years earlier. Accompanied only by my cousin and his piano skills we made magic one afternoon at Rio West Mall in Gallup, N.M. at thr Festival of the Arts. My life was forever changed in a matter of minutes. Thank you Del for so many great songs but espeially this one.
