It really undermines the value of these lyrics when it's a popular, skinny, attractive woman singing them. Nothing against Charlotte - that's her profession, that's her choice, and there's nothing wrong with looking good. But given that context, the song feels very disingenuous.

Well, Charlotte had said, that she has had great difficulty accepting herself and she has had an eating disorder. And while the lyrics are in I-form, they don't necessarily tell of Charlotte herself.

Jeanette McCurdy of all people has struggled with eating disorders and self loathing over her appearance. You don't need to be overweight or not attractive to feel pressured to look or act "better"
