Top tip : When I polish stainless allen heads ect I put them in a drill and spin them against the rotation of the mop , 1 it's a lot safer because you have more control there is no heat to your fingers and no chance of the mop grabbing the work out of your hand and flinging it across the room 2 it gives a better finish because you can polish for longer ,, the drill chuck doesn't damage the treads either as long as you're sensible with the tightening , hope this helps .

Hi, when putting pipes on like you did while leaving the nuts on the studs, I sometimes put stainless domed nuts on the end of the stud's covering the exposed thread, it can save a lot of heartache in the future for either yourself or an other. On your move good luck with it, at the moment I am building a shed at the rear of my house for some of the bikes I have 23'x13' housing about 12 bikes it will leave my garage as my workshop. I also have a 24'x8' container bunged with projects the next being my 78 CBX I hope I will live long enough to complete. It's a way of life and keeps me penniless but content. Not Penny as in Penny.
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
Good call on the dome nuts, i can order some M8's for that once this is all taken care of, but the studs themselves being stainless it shouldn't be as much of an issue as it was with the factory fittings. I love containers, they make awesome garages, i saw the Jamie Robinson made a great bike barn from two 40ft boxes, placed 8ft apart, cut the opposing sides out, and made a roof between the two from the left over steel.. then just a gate on the front.. the benefits of having land to make all those cool dreams come true, not so easy when you live in an apartment.! And you're right, motorcycle addictions will keep you broke and happy all your life.!

After seeing many reviews I discovered not to worry about the Nm as you break the tension as you would with a normal ratchet then spin it out with the motor. If tightening nip it up snug then use your torque. PS will you have to fill all the pin holes for the registration plates.

Nice pipes. Someone's a gluten for punishment but sounds like it was in the plan - onwards and upwards. Good luck 👍

yeah, in the plan.. just not our plan.. we only got a single one year lease here, and it seems that was why.. they always had a long term plan for development of the estate, and as long as we benefit in the right way, im really happy it's happening..

I find polishing strangely therapeutic & rewarding but I need to up my skills. It would help if I knew the differences between various compounds & mops instead of trying to learn by trial & error (lots of errors!). It would great if you did an idiots guide to this dark but eventually shiny art. Or can you recommend anything on KZbin?

Very nice mate great job ,good luck with the move will you be taking you hand crafted bespoke custom made one of a kind chipindale inspired benches you made with you to your new venue
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
I will indeed Sir, but probably in kit form as it was built in place, and the screws holding it to the wall and floor and buried under many pieces of wood and many screws!... but some great new bench cabinets coming from a shop fit to upcycle, and this wood will give the extra wood I need to get it fitted!

Nice job on the pipes, Del. Say, when you move are you going to be able to bring the bench you built with you? Good luck with everything!
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, we'll be building new benches, this time with cupboards underneath them, we've salvaged some from a shop fit, so we'll be using the wood from the big bad bench as part of the new construction... up-cycling at it's best!

Lovely job mate! I think we are all curious about the color! Please do a Copper/Bronze metallic 🤣
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
Copper and bronze? A great colour scheme, but pretty much what I did on the Harley, but nothing excluded at the moment!
@fredriksalmen51593 жыл бұрын
@@Moonfleet41 Ohh yes, saw it now, maybe too redundant then, I think it would match all the black great though :) If you wanna keep it in the "Triump classic triple" colors, the Adventurer (horrible rear end on that bike though 🤣) came in a nice color like that one year, like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/foutpJ9jmsyenMk
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
@@fredriksalmen5159 Yeah, very similar to the Harley, specially viewed with that rear duck tail fender, the biggest inspiration at the moment is the silver, grey and black union flag on the new Trident, that would be a real challenge to pull off, which makes it quite appealing!
@fredriksalmen51593 жыл бұрын
@@Moonfleet41 That will look really cool! I think you can do it!

Congratulations for the new garage. Fantastic the headed polish... I'll have to do the same on my bandit... A few days ago a plastic bag stuck over them
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, ain't that a nightmare... get in there with the Harpic X10 first, it'll clean the plastic bag off and any of the browning that Bandit pipes suffer from, should leave them a nice grey finish, and make them 10x easier to polish! Good luck...

Shiny pipes look nice. Not a fan of blacked-out bikes. The more bling the better on them since cars now are pretty much devoid af any chrome. Question: what's the purpose of those three screws towards the tops of the headers whose heads you polished?
@Moonfleet413 жыл бұрын
From what i can gather they're for tuning and balancing purposes, not seen them on any other exhausts, so maybe a Triumph foible back in the day.! this is a 20 year old carbed bike.!
