Excellent episode Del and Penny. My only comment would be about the touch of gold on those shocks...thinking about how a black option on that part would look. But what a kind gift they were! Kudos to the Wrecking Crew!

Hi buddy, to expand on it a bit further, the wonderful people at Wrecking Crew actually gave us an option on what shocks we would like, how awesome is that of them... and they do make an all black reservoir shock, but they are 340mm, which is 1" longer than standard, and none of the black shocks are even the same length as the standard shocks on the Dyna ... OEM shocks are 320mm and I wanted to lower it, very slightly, so these were the only ones at the right size and they're a perfect 305mm... the gold colour was a trade off to get the right shocks at the right length... I'll be picking up the gold in the final paint job, you'll see !!

Fantastic video! Thank you Del and Penny! I would like to pass on to you an old machinist trick, to get round holes through thin sheet metal: Fold up a patch of flannel cloth about three 0r four layers thick, place this patch of cloth between the drill point and the tin, then drill through. As a two fluted drill will render a hole, it will not be round. Utilizing the cloth somehow makes it a very round and uniform hole! Test me? You will be surprised!

We are at the start of our journey building a motorcycle touring company with just me and my wife in Thailand. Hi Sheldon, and it is rare to have reservoir shocks, but not unheard of, check out the Harley Sportster Sport from a few years ago, there was an early Dyna Sport that had the same thing, but they weren't up to much in quality terms, because Harley OEM stuff never is... I think the old term they use is form over function, shiney chrome things that don't work are exactly that, these are the other way round, they are function very much over form, they don't necessarily look like they belong in with the design of the bike, but boy will they pick up the handling and performance a treat, and that is so much more important to me in this bike!
