Use a cheap Carb Stick or Carb Gauges to tune multiple carbs. If using a Carb Stick just be careful not to go above idle or you will suck the mercury fluid from the Carb Stick down into your carb not a good thing but the stick does a good job! They make metal extension tubes that mount to your carbs usually comes with two sizes two long tubes for the inside carbs and two short tubes for the outside carbs then hook up your rubber hoses from your Stick or Gauges.

Hi del When you undid the Allan bolts on the carb manifold , you used a Allen key adapter with a thicker shank on it and then you used a spanner to loosen the Allen bolt , what’s the adapter called and where can I get one from Kind regards Mark
@Moonfleet414 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, it wasn't an allen key adapter as such, it was best described as an allen bit, it goes in a regular 1/4" socket and you can then drive it with a ratchet, but it's just a little bit of common sense thinking in such a tight space, I just use the naked allen bit itself and then turned it with a 1/4" ring spanner! Simple solution to such a tight space... !!

@@bigchappers4402 Don't worry too much about over tightening, it's a common concern, just dab some marker paint or Tippex on the bolt where you can eyeball it, perhaps with a corresponding dot on the casing next tot he bolt, and you'll soon see if it moves... check it every 50miles or so, and if so just nip it up!

Del quick question, what is that residue that you apply on the ends of the throttle cable? I am going to do some throttle work on my Dyna and was wondering whether I should do the same thing.
@Moonfleet415 жыл бұрын
Hi Isidoros, good to hear from you... glad you noticed that... this actual substance is some form of white petroleum grease sent in sachets with the throttle cables, but it's probably just a fancy form of Vaseline because that's what you should use, and what I have always used in the past... smear a dab on the tiny brass collets on the end of the cable, it stops them from wearing and something else that's quite handy, it sticks them in place while you are trying to fit the cables, so they don't fall off, roll under the bench and vanish... put some Vaseline in to all the bearing surface the cables will rub against on the throttle tube on the end of the hand grip, then when the cables are fitted, and in place, and the slack taken out, smear some Vaseline over the top of them, and this will keep out the water and stop anything from corroding... also helps to stop water getting down inside the cable sleeves and corroding them later on!
@IsidorosMezopoulos5 жыл бұрын
