He did good when he was imitating the T1000, he seems soulless and laser focused on his mission. The problem for me is that he's a bit too talkative, he even tries to convince Karl to switch sides, which doesn't make sense. The T1000 didn't try to reason with anyone, he just did the bare minimum to blend in. My main issue with the movie is Karl, he shouldn't have been in the movie to begin with. Already Rev-9 vs seasoned Terminator Hunter Sarah Connor and cyborg female Kyle Reese is enough of a challenge. Grace manages to defeat the Rev-9 the first time they meet, then Sarah Connor defeats the Rev-9 the first time they meet. So already the Rev-9 is up against two people who had a decent chance of stopping it. Then they're met with the T-800, who is almost as powerful as the Rev-9..... as a result, the Rev-9 isn't that scary. They keep talking about how it's impossible, but they keep stopping it. By the time Grace had to die for the fuel cell to nuke the Rev-9, it was already almost dead.

Part of why the rev 9 is so talkative is because it is a stealth machine, and unlike the t 1000 or t 800 from previous terminator films, the Rev-9 is not in read-only mode, so it can adapt more, and blend in better. What is so terrifying is tge knowledge that you literally wouldn't know who the Rev-9 was. It also used psychology to get the info it needed and sow discord amongst its enemies. The biggest flaw to its AI being in full control? It became a sadist who was having fun hunting its prey down, and as a result, missed some key chances it had

It made sense to scrap it. I know the movie's are already unrealistic, but it's a really tired cliche to have robots have the ability to hack into anything they want just because it is an electronic device. I mean, he'd have to know the programming language and the operating systems of every machine on the planet to be able to do that. That's why Elon Musk is wrong about a rogue AI taking over. An AI only knows what you teach it. It couldn't hack into any system it wants just because it's a computer. The AI would have to know the specific code and operating systems of the devices it wants to control. An AI can't just read another computers code because it's a computer. That would be like, if you didn't know a single world of French, and someone locked you in a room with a book written in French. You would never be able to read that book.

It made no sense. A soldier shot at them when they were taking cover, so clearly he had his aim right at them. Meanwhile they kept head bobbing and they eventually just got up and walked out of that area without getting shot. What did the soldier just stop aiming in that direction thinking oh they disappeared behind a rock? On top of that these are professionally trained soldiers, and if they were flanking then they would definitely take these people out given that they knew their location. I'm glad they removed the scene because it didn't make much sense at all

They could have achieved the same level of tension by using Grace's enhanced senses, telling the rest of the crew "they are on us but don't know where we are yet, let's hurry and run for it". The examples you gave are deliberate fantasies, and while they make no sense, the whole story are based on them. But for this scene their were other options. It's not this scene that makes it a bad movie however.

I think the better term is blood thirsty. The real sadist was the T-1000. He intentionally enjoyed instilling fear in his targets and toying with them and making them suffer. So many times he'd come close to completing his missiob but hold back juuuust enough to let the cat and mouse chase continue. He enjoyed the hunt. The Rev-9 on the other hand is just a slaughterhouse, it kills mindlessly at times but it doesnt make it targets suffer like a sadist would. So imo itd be better to call him more bloodthirsty instead of more sadistic. I dont think any terminator is as sadistic ss the T-1000

This corresponds to that place being Dani's uncle's house when REV-9 arrives and kills those who were there. Finding no trace of her, he uses his advanced scanner to track her down. This was removed and changed to the scene where REV-9 arrives at a facility where he is holding computer cables to track the location of Dani, Sarah, and company.

This movie doesn't deserve the hate it gets. I see more in line of the Spider-Man 3 problem. The movie was directed by Tim Miller who can make insane stories that are great if given full control. That's the thing full control. The studio and also James Cameron had different ideas but they wanted to go safer with the film. You can clearly see what is from Tim Miller's original idea and stuff the studio made. He even came out saying how he didn't like working on the film. I can only imagine how it must feel being a fan of Terminator films and not being able to make your own film in your vision. Making a sequel to the first 2 films can be achieved given the right writers and director and full creative control but instead with got an ok sequel with problems. So instead of giving hate to the film blame James Cameron and the studios who made this.

And realistically speaking even if you have access to WiFi its impossible to breach into military private com networks when in the beginning the network is not connected with WiFi in the first place. Also, although this scene is interesting but merely having authorization over military assets and commanding authority just because of voice mimicking doesn't make much sense either, the military is not that simple to blatantly listen orders without further verification. Even if this worked, it will make Rev-9 extremely overpowered. Why bother to move when you can sit your ass down and playing around with the military commands to have them do your job?

@Meta Man but that doesn't make any sense. judgement day still happened. they stopped skynet, but they didn't stop legion. so whether he lived or died the outcome of the future would have been the same. legion would have taken over and judgement day would have still happened. "This moment needed to happen to validate the purpose of this film." this moment needed to happen so the savior of the future would have been a women instead of a man. that is the only reason they killed john conner as a boy and replaced him with a girl. "John is paradoxically killed (removed from existence if you will) to pave the way for a new threat: Legion. This offset a new timeline in which legion takes over and a new messiah in the form of Dani Ramos is the chosen one. God I wish people/haters would actually watch this film and analyze the storyline properly before making biased opinions with no actual critical merit." ok but that doesn't answer the question of why john had to be killed. everything could still happen exactly the way it did and john conner could still be the savior. this angers me because it pretty much redacts the best movies of the franchise. "So really what crime did Jim Cameron and T Miller actually commit?" they essentially gave the finger to a bunch of fans of the franchise to push the pussy power agenda. "You have to ask yourself after the last movie where they turned him into a terminator, where else could they have gone with his character?" that movie was horseshit but at least they were able to progress the story instead of just cutting it off and starting a new one.
