I want to thank you for a great video. I’ve never made a baby afghan with baby yarn before and thanks to your video I just finished it for my daughter in laws sister who’s having a baby girl. I’ve made shell stitch blankets using blue, white and gray stripes and thought it looked really nice. I think this pattern works for either a boy or a girl. What colors would you use?

If you want your blanket smaller or bigger, you will change up your chain length. The chain multiple is 6+2.

At the border when you say turn your work is it turn to the next side or work from the back side of the blanket?

After each round of the border, you will turn your work meaning you will go in the opposite direction from the previous round.

I desperately want to make this blanket but I struggle with the shell stitch. After the SC, when I reach across to do the first DC of the shell, my yarn stretches and I get a gap/hole. Any advice to correct this?
