Delicious Homemade Summer Squash | A Soul Food Side Dish | Mattie's Kitchen

#MattiesKitchen, in this video Mattie will be showing you a "Simple Way to Cook Summer Squash." When making a dish with few ingredients, it's best to buy the best produce available. If you don’t have a garden, you can always purchase summer squash from a local farm or the farmers market. This soul food side dish is perfect for the Summer and can be eaten raw. You can also have them grilled, baked, air fried, but I prefer them sautéed using bacon grease. So sit back and relax as you enjoy this cooking show from start to finish! ✨ Ingredients: Yellow Squash, Bacon Grease, Green Bell Pepper, Yellow Onions, Fresh Garlic, Jalapeño Peppers, Salt and Pepper.
✨ How to a Good Yellow Squash: look for firm, vibrantly colored squash. A few nicks and scratches on a squash's thin skin are to be expected. But avoid wrinkly skin, which is a sign of age, or soft and wet spots, the first signs of rot.

Good afternoon Mama Mattie! As always I love your videos! You have taught me so much! Please stop using vegetable oil. Butter,bacon grease, lard, beef fat (tallow), and avocado oil are all healthy choices for deep frying. Margarine,crisco, corn oil, canola oil, and vegetable oil is all trash and is the real culprit for clogged arteries. I honor you Mama Mattie and want you to stay healthy.
