確かに近年上手くなっているよね。十数年前はきちんとした演技のできるSteven Blum(THEビッグオーのロジャー・スミス役で有名)の様なプロフェッショナルな声優はまだまだ少なかったからね。でもきちんとお金をかける価値があると認識されると､採用される素晴らしい声優達が充実してきた。ジョジョ第三部のアヌビス神を演じたBrad Venableなんか素晴らしい演技だったよ。(とても残念なことに彼は2021年に亡くなってしまった…) 今回ネットフリックスは英語版以外の様々な言語の吹き替えを制作している。機会があれば聴き比べてみて欲しい。どの言語でも素晴らしい声優達に演技させており、ネットフリックスの本気度をうかがえる。特にドイツ語版のマルシルの演技はとても評価が高い。

3:03 I found it interesting that one way to say “modest” in Japanese is 大人しい which literally means “adult”. It’s actually the opposite of English. In the example of Marcille’s dress, her choice is “the most adult” dress compared to the other “not adult” ones.

Sharing a bit about the canaries (not spoilers but revealed in notes separate from the manga) Canaries are not their real name (Dungeon Investigation Squad) but people call them that as it is , like popo or 5-o to police. The elves with clipped ears are conscripted criminals while those without are from royal families or elves who volunteered to join the service. Usually, one unclipped elf manages two clipped eared elves. Their crimes can range vastly from drug abuse, illegal body modification, black market involvements and murder, sentences lasting 1-3 centuries or life. Those with clipped ears can’t use any of their magic without the permission of their elf managing them, so if say, their managing elf dies from an attacking monster, and they never got permission, the clipped eared elves will share the same fate as well. Each member of the Canaries specialise in one type of magic. And as for what magic, watch more and find out.

I looked up Monster Musume minotaurs, and if the Minotaurs in Dungeon Meshi looked that human while being eaten as steaks I would be a little disturbed.
