For the last couple of videos (and upcoming video) we’ve teamed up with Tourism Nova Scotia!
In this week’s video we’re exploring two of the best small towns in all of Canada, both can be found in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, Canada!
We start the video in the town of Annapolis Royal, one of Canada’s oldest settlements. We start off at the historic Fort Anne. We explore the grounds, the fort, check out the view and also take a look at the old graveyard in Canada. Later walk around the town to check out the old, beautiful, colourful buildings and visit the Annapolis Royal Farmer’s Market.
We start off the rest of the video the next day in the town of Wolfville where we had lunch at Lightfoot and Wolfville, a winery with beautiful grounds and facilities which is also known for making great pizza. We get a wine flight and also an amazing pizza!
While in Wolfville we stayed at one of the most iconic inns in the Annapolis Valley, the Blomidon Inn. We show a bit of a tour of the grounds an our amazing room.
Lastly we head into the town of Wolfville to go to Church! Church Brewing that is, which is a craft beer brewery and restaurant in an old converted church. We take a tour of the facilities and taste some beer.

Thanks Trevor/Anna for this nice video! Don't listen to the ones telling you to use your hands for the pizza, I never do it, even for burgers, I don't like the mess. I lived for sometime in Montréal, QUE and from your video, I would say that NS though much smaller, looks really interesting. Being from Alexandria and being a Mediterranean, I think coastal areas in NS would be more familiar to me than inland locations in Canada. Next time will make sure to visit the Maritimes. Thanks once again!

Only recently realized those hills surrounding the fort would had to have done all by hand. This was way before the invention of any power excavators. Must have taken thousands and thousands of man- hours to construct.

Perusing one more video tonight Anna and Trevor. After touring my first home earlier today in Cape Breton, I checked out your video in Annapolis Valley, where I’ve lived for past 47 years. I really lucked out didn’t I? I’ve lived my life in what I consider the two best valleys in the gorgeous province of Nova Scotia. Pretty amazing! I love to travel and see new places, meet new people and see how they live their life, but I can always come back to this province that I am so blessed to call home! Loving your videos about the province I call home. So often we maritimers know we live in this amazing place but until the past two years or so, we have downplayed our home provinces because we were considered kind of just humble country cousins of our bigger provinces. It seems we have come into our own lately and have begun to claim our own claim to fame. We don’t often toot our own horn, but”We are Amazing” and thanks for doing such a great job showing off to us and the rest of the world, how fantastic our Atlantic province is!

Yes, Yankee Stadium of course but also the WOODLAWN CEMETERY up near the border with Westchester County (City of Yonkers). Many famous and historical figures and whole families buried or entombed there. Worth taking a guided tour.

I am just loving these Nova Scotia videos! It is just so gorgeous there. I imagine it must be getting cooler there, as it sure is Fall here in Ohio. Quite a difference from El Nido, right? I enjoyed the brewery in the old church. I grew up in Cincinnati, and they made an abandoned church into a brewery there also (some nice photos in this Trip Advisor article: www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g60993-d8274206-i403042952-Taft_s_Ale_House-Cincinnati_Ohio.html ). It's becoming, unfortunately, a real problem as to what to do with old churches not being used for their original purpose anymore. I am glad to see some of them are being repurposed! And I LOVE the sea glass earrings! I would have bought some things there too! You have a beautiful hometown!

Excellent video. The British captured Acadia for the last time in 1710 and the colony was ceded by France in 1713 under the Treaty of Utrecht. Quebec City was settled in 1608, so it is older than Annapolis Royal, which was settled by the Scots in 1629 and occupied by the French after France regained the colony in 1632.

No, that's not true . The reason the west coast was settled 1st is because they Landed on an island in the Bay of Fundy near Digby , they almost died there ! because they stayed on the island all winter in the cold , starving to death, in the spring they met the native people who showed them the best land to live on , which is on the west side, because it is protected from the wind and cold by the Annapolis hill range .
