It really feels like someone accidentally moved the stairs in the back and it auto deleted the door for being in the way oops and no one caught it before launch. The poor Charm family o.0 I really appreciate they have relied on more Simmers with building talent to help create the starter homes after this. Would it be too much to give us a couple more lots in there though?

This is super cute. I imagine the downstairs sim would be elderly and actually own the home and once their family was grown they had the upstairs turned into an apartment to rent because they no longer needed such a large space. It would be fun gameplay to have the downstairs resident be a kindly witch since they’re in the magic pack.

Actually the strange architecture was not intentional at all. Sarah herself was the architect and told the builders what she wanted, and just kept building, probably because she was bored. Alot was not up to building codes (very loose back then anyway) so a large part of the house collapsed in the 1906 Earthquake. So all those stairs and doors DID go somewhere until 1906. Then she didn't live long enough to rebuild her mansion. It was bequeathed to her niece and the niece sold it to people who invented the ghost story BS, forgetting to mention the Earthquake collapse just to sell tickets to the house owned by an eccentric old rich lady. I grew up near the Winchester House but have never visited, we were taught the real story in school, so we know that it is literally just that, a tourist trap.

I appreciate you limiting the number of cc packs per build and stating upfront which ones you will be using on the build. I don’t use CC because my pc is a potato that has badly needed updating for awhile but keeps dropping on the priority list ( replacing my roof was expensive) - but the way you do it means that if I really wanted a build, I could get it without downloading a million pieces of cc from different creators. There are so many amazing CC creators and it’s so interesting to see even if I probably won’t use it myself.

I sometimes wonder if simmers remember about F5 placing. You don't always have to struggle with alt placing and worrying if windows etc are still of the same height 😅 The outside of the house is stunning!! I love the added balconies :}

I love open space/open living but wow, when you actually have “rooms” for everything, it feels much more homey. You can stylize it and make it more personal too. I think this kind of layout works best for eclectic/maximalist people and the more open living works more for minimalism. Another amazing build, deli! 💌

I'm not going to lie. I opened up this lot to renovate and I thought I did something with the stairs before even starting. I was so confused😅 I personally turned mine into a magical library... I love the little display plate idea though. my grandmother did that with teacups and when she passed each of us got one😊 i adore the second house

I adore this reno. Both apartments are beautiful and homey. Love the light blue upstairs, but I'd live downstairs. It's just charming. The cozy lounge, spacious dining room. I'd be the landlord downstairs and host dinner parties, using ingredients from the garden. Just lovely!

my grandmother's old apartment had those big stained glass dividers throughout the whole house and i remember as a kid i was so fascinated by those colored glasses that whenever i visited my grandma, i would just stare at those dividers all the time... it reminded me of my childhood and i love it!!! 😭😭 definitely gonna download the cc pack and put the divider in my own buildings from now on😭

Where I’m from in the US, it’s very common for old American Foursquare homes to be converted into apartments. Typically one unit on the first level, and another unit taking up the second level and attic. The upstairs unit usually has its own dedicated entrance from the outside utilizing an existing back staircase. That could be a fun idea for a build! Love your content.

I love this build! I would live in the bottom apartment. the second floor apartment looks like a family with a teen or a young adult and two kids. The bottom looks made for a elderly sim, or a single person who is an aspiring writer, or an Elderly couple that has retired.

I’m picturing a classy older witch who use live in the entire building has decided to downsize and renovate her old house into two apartments and not having any kids of her own, she likes she the sound of having a young family rent the top apartment out. It's funny how haphazard the Sims team built this house. Lol but amazing builds as always. And congratulations again for the 10 years. I appreciate all the videos and more videos to come! Personally I haven't used CC in building but the ones you used are so beautiful and perfect for what I usually do. I've been building a lot of hotels/bnb lots and playing it like such by getting roommates. I still haven't purchased the new For rent expansion pack because I'm poor as of this moment 😅 but I'll definitely use your code if I do get it plus any of the other kits and packs I don't have yet. I feel like this house was inspired by the Winchester Mystery House, hence the stairs to nowhere (the mansion famously had doors and stairs that took to nowhere) and the art nouveau style. So if I had to renovate this house I would go full crazy with it, just like the Winchester Mystery House. I feel like that adds some story to it.
