After The Hobbit and The Trilogy, Tolkien also wrote a book of poetry called the Adventures of Tom Bombadil (and Other Verses from the Red Book). There are a couple poems about Tom, and others. In the newer editions, there is commentary in the back by the editors having to do with his writing style and Tolkien's lore/mythology, plus British languages and history that is quite informative if you're into background. I think the original with just the verses was copyright 1962 and worth a lot of money now. But even the newer editions are also beautifully illustrated.

This build is gorgeous! I absolutely love it and I think it's my favorite of your two hill houses. Also, it's cool that this was half speed build and half "live" furnishing. Unfortunately, I sometimes get a little motion sickness during speed builds so I can't always watch them. Slowing down the playback speed obviously slows down the commentary, too, so that doesn't really work either. That said, I really appreciate that you did half of this video at regular speed. Looking forward to whatever you have coming next!

Looveee this!! This is STUNNING!! Holy cow. I love the CC too. This is my style of cozy. I love dark cluttered, soft spaces. The bookcase with the ladder will be perfect to add to this build later on. It would be REALLY fun to see a “My dream hobbit home” video since you have mentioned a lot of clutter and no sunlight usually makes you uncomfortable. It would be really cool to see where Deli Hob would bundle up in a blanket with her dogs and her Switch in a cozy corner. Is that corner white walled? It could be a renovation of this hobbit home since I know I would be “hill-homed out”

Amazing build, like always!! Quick tip though -- if you don't like things like cabinets / bookshelves having the same objects, you can use MoveObjects to add a clutter item to cover it (I do it all the time with the country kitchen counters -- switch up the clutter jars with other jars / bowls/ etc)

as someone who lives in a flat/appartment in the uk, potatoes are AMAZING to grow, we have either very cold and wet weather or hot and dry, lots of rain especially at the moment (there is so much flooding) but the potatoes will always thrive. they are super easy to grow at home, especially for first time food growers :)

i have never seen the floorplan for bag end before. it has less bedrooms than i expected XD hobbits tend to have large families which leads to having large pantries lol bilbo's mother had 11 siblings XD they also have seven meals a day: breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper. poor bilbo had to adjust to two meals a day while traveling with the dwarves. i do have a theory that the hobbits with actual jobs have less meals because i have a hard time believing farmers and shopkeepers paused so many times a day to eat. like, maybe they skipped elevensies and dinner or something. bilbo was more part of the high society of the shire; he had the time to indulge in things like writing for fun, walks around hobbiton, and all seven meals. they also love mushrooms and smoking their pipes :) tom bombadil was rather odd. i didnt particularly enjoy that bit of the book, but i loved his song. i love that secret study, i think bilbo would totally have one if he could've. and he definitely brought back some souvenirs from his adventure (MATHOM ROOM) this is an amazing build, you really aced the coziness vibe! i can definitely see a hobbit family living here :D

23:50 about your toilet paper question, speaking as a person from a family from the countryside of Brazil with not much money to buy anything: people in the old times used to use corn cobs to clean their buns! It's crazy I know but It was aparently the most pratical thing for this task (they were tossed away after no reusing btw 😅😅)

Butternut Squash is much easier to grow and to kill powdered mildew your plant needs good ventilation (remove old leaves if you have too many, for better air flow) and you can spray a couple of times per week with a water and vinegar solution, when the sun is setting (so it has time to evaporate between the sun is back up again, avoiding burns on the plant or yourself). I was not able to grow regular pumpkins yet, but I had tons of butternut squashes, more than I could use.

Did you have a mostly empty bookcase? As one of the best lines in Bilbo's will is about one his cousins not returning his books, so they should just take his bookcase. I read the Hobbit as an eleven year old, then later as an adult, not catching as a child how snippy Hobbits are.

23:46 for what they used for toilet paper before toilet paper (from someone who worked for a few summers at the local museum): at in Sweden, in the late 1700th Century, we used a smooth wooden stick, which you made yourself. I don't remember all of it exactly right now, but on calm days with few visitors we'd just.. make those, because it's pretty easy and it allows us to still do *something* for when visitors come and stay in character (they also had a specific name, which I unfortunately don't remember right now, but I can dig around and find out more if anyone wants)

Hi 👋🏻 Deli! I had to wait awhile to finally get to watch this today (might even be your tomorrow by the time you see this 😄. I adore everything about this. You’ve always had a gift to create spaces that are fabulous for any style, even one’s that aren’t your personal preference. This build spoke to my more homey, traditional style. But, I’m a little weird, because I like both the warm soft light of a house inside a hill or cave sitch, but also places with tons of light throughout. And I don’t know what on earth I’d do in my older years without modern conveniences like TV/video games, since reading now puts me right to sleep, even when very interested. I used to be a much more avid reader when younger & dreamt of an epic personal library with gorgeously bound books full of classy illustrations, as well as literary substance. I totally understood the phrasing of “If gingham was a dictionary, the meaning would be cozy.” I must be able to speak Deli pretty well by now! 😁 This build was all about home, warmth and comfort. I love absolutely everything about it. The CC sooo good! I love the realism style and the strong swatches. I like either gemstone type colors like emerald, sapphire & ruby, as well as softer pastels in only certain shades, so I don’t feel it’s some kinda Candyland world and I’m not really about Neons at all, except in very specific circumstances. Like for a teen character into cool graffiti, street styles, etc. I really love the exterior on this place, as well. I definitely agree with another commenter that it’d be so cool to get more circular build items like windows, arches &, oh how I wish - doors! Beyond that, I was enamored (enamoured 4 alternate spelling?) with the idea of you having a go at an elven inspired build. In LOTR we didn’t see much of Lothlorian either in interior or exterior (where Lady Galadriel lived), but we DID see a good deal of Imladris, where Elrond & Arwen lived & where Aragorn grew up. I don’t care if CC is used, but, next best architecture I can think of is Realm of Magic and possibly a few other pieces across packs could work. Ya gotta have the inspiration, though. So, I’m fine if it’s not in the cards in the near future. Maybe someday. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I also loved the hair scrunchie & am so glad James got it for you for Christmas. Teddy Fresh is awesome. Hope you’re all well and settling Frani in. She’s adorable. The family is growing with your 2nd child (fur baby) already! 🥰 Have a lovely time, whatever time of day it is when you read this (IF you get to. It’s really long! Sorry!) I really need to comment on James’s videos more, too. I watch them all. He’s how I found you & Gluon. Anyhow, slay, girlfriend, SLAY! Can you tell I’ve been watching Gluon play Bratz lately? 😂

Okay, Tom Bombadil did not abduct Goldberry. She tried to catch him first, and then he came back later and 'caught' her back, it was mutual flirtation and a happy marriage.

For a moment, you chose a woven rag rug which I thought was perfect. My grandmother made them for us and it is exactly what hobbits would have had. BTW, people used leaves a lot for toilet paper.
