I was a binge alcoholic... It’s absolutely terrible. Everything was falling apart, but I wasn’t interested in that. All I needed was drinking, in large quantities... After delirium and a week in intensive care, I had a hard time giving up this addiction. It’s not easy. But after a few years of sobriety, you will feel the taste of life without alcohol. For me it was like a revelation, an insight...

Stu’s personal insight and honest reflections related to alcoholism certainly resonate almost entirely with mine. I also agree with the genetic inherited element - my mother was an alcoholic and it breaks my heart that my youngest son battles the demon( and cocaine) too. I always welcome the honest interaction as it does help when we support each other. There are some great channels out there…Stu’s “ Bat Country”…”LD’s”… etc.. Delerium Dirks was good but sadly we have lost him. Take care all - stay sober.🥊🤗👍” Silvo”

Thanks for the video, the key difference for me was zero withdrawal symptoms, physical or mental, not even within the first thirty days, after Steffon Barkload and what he suggested it's been 9 months now it's like it never was a problem, reading that last version goolging what he put up. No AA or meds either was the factor that most attracted me too.

Being someone who's experienced DTs myself, I totally relate to this guy. I'd love to hear how he compares DTs to the so-called mystical experiences of psychedelics such as psilocybin or DMT.

The addiction to alcohol in regards to genes is always linked to how you digest alcohol. Not if you have some mystery addiction gene.. Those who process alcohol and it releases dopamine, will naturally always drink more, as each drink makes them feel better.

@@Conor-Ryan It is the same reason in reverse why people who cannot metabolise alcohol effectively will never become alcoholics, and basically will rarely drink if at all. It makes their face instantly flush, makes them feel dizzy and nauseous. On the other hand, every drink I consume I feel better.

@9 mins in, isolation, also, to drink alone or with people who drink the same as you , that's isolating, with alcohol, then people come or go, but alcohol becomes a constant, like that line: the carnival has left town, but we still own the site'

I view a problem drinker as someone who drinks too much, and gets in trouble due to her drinking. An alcoholic has a genetic disposition which processes alcohol and its byproducts differently than a non-alcoholic. Both need to not drink.

I don't think Putin's visit to Aktau had any influence on the outcome of Nugent's trial. Kazakhstan has been an independent nation for decades and if a Brit gets caught up in the Kazakhstani justice system, Putin couldn't care less. He has no command there anyway.
