In this video, we will show how to perform mass updates on your R630 server via the Lifecycle Controller. This will require an internet connection, a switch and a NIC installed into your R630. We will set up a network and show how to perform these updates. You will need to enter into the Lifecycle Controller on boot up screen by pressing F10. This will be the start. Depending on the last time your updated your system, these updates can literally take hours and hours. We run our servers overnight and sometimes come back in and the updates have not finished.... so yes be patient and expect this to take a fair amount of time. Setting up the updates will only take a matter of minutes and is relatively easy.

Hello, Thanks for the great videos. When trying to do the mass update, I don't get the choice to use Http Https. My screen only says Network Share. I am connected to the internet through Nic 1.

We have encountered this issue before and this is caused by iDRAC not being up-to-date. We've been able to get around this by installing a free OS like Windows, and within the OS downloading the iDRAC update EXE file from Dell's website, and then running the EXE file. This link should be the one you need for the iDRAC update: dl.dell.com/FOLDER08379910M/1/iDRAC-with-Lifecycle-Controller_Firmware_DDK5R_WN64_2.83.83.83_A00.EXE Hope this helps!
