Thanks for really good review ,just found one of these used but only used a few times as its up at a summer cabin thats barely visited.Anyway they were asking $100 seems like a decent deal even tho its few years old now. Ultrasharp series has better color accuracy and type of panel they use. S series is often good, but not as good :)

Did you manage to connect peripherals on the side mounted usb ports? Can you access them directly form the laptop via the usb type C?

Sorry for some beginner questions. I'm planning to use this on a desktop with 3 monitors. Do I connect it to the desktop by DP to DP. Then connect other monitors by HDMI to HDMI and DP to DP. Would that setup work? Would that setup allow dongle connection on the side?

Daisy chaining works with DP only if monitors are compatible.. ie, they should have a dp in and out to accommodate it. This monitor can be a part of a dp daisy chain for sure.

Depends on your macbook type, but it should. And even if it doesn't it wouldn't damage it.

does it do backlight bleeding? its a huge problem with DELL, I had a AW2721D with IPS screen and had to return it

I'm not too prone to back light bleeding, but Ultrasharp series are much better at that.

Great content. Question about the ethernet. Does it supply ethernet thru the USB-C ? Say I have a mac with usb-c. One cable. Would the ethernet give me ethernet via USB-C into the mac you think?

Hi. Now I have bought this display. The text is blurry and not very sharp. In windows the image is very sharp. Did you do anything special to make it more crisp? The image looks distorted and it runs the 2560x1440 resolution. Any ideas?

so, are you saying that texts are blurry, and image is sharp? I'd think that's either the "ClearType" related issue/screen scale issue. have you tried any different scale such as 100% to see if it changes at all? (it may require reboot)

@@JosephKim Hi thanks for the update. I returned the monitor the day after and got a 4k display.... that made the differance. Very sharp text and so on... I guess 1440p was not enough for my old eyes hahah

Few issues I'm having if you can help with that. 1. Can't connect a 2nd monitor to it through hdmi cabel. 2nd screen isnt dell screen. 2. Connects when i connect to my Microsoft surface laptop but doesn't connect when i use a hub

The daisy chain is only possible with Displayport. How are you connecting from the hub to the monitor? If you are connecting via USB-C, you need to make sure it has display output all the way. I'd also contact Dell.

Ultrasharp models have much better color range along with accuracy. And this one has PD functionality for being a hub and dock for your machines.

One of the DP port is actually signal out. You can daisy chain your monitor with that. I think that's how it is meant to be used. :)

How does 1080p content look on this 1440p monitor ? Is it better to watch 1080p content on 1080 monitor ? Or 1440p monitor shows 1080p videos pixelating , unclear edges ?

Depends on the content. Texts may be a bit blurry, but regular movies and photos don't have as sharp edges as texts, so hard to tell the difference.
