Won't lie, only way I was able to get coil whine out of this machine was to plug and charge it to 100%, then move the mouse around or open a program until I got a sound. Unplugged this thing is silent. Great review btw, you've actually convinced me to buy the pen. Had no idea you could take notes and then convert them into word, that's gonna be an awesome tool for school.

Hey Lisa! Will you be getting a Top Specced Dell XPS 15 9560 4k Review Model? I'm thinking of buying one. However, I just can't decide if I want the 4k or regular FHD. After using a 4k laptop recently, I've fallen in love with them. However, I don't want to get the FHD and be disappointed if the display is not as sharp as the 4k models. Thank!

Great review Lisa, and finally a look at how it functions in tablet mode! I am seriously considering a purchase this year of either this Dell 2 in 1 , or the Surface Pro (probably the 5, which I hear may be out in Q1 of 2017). I would love to see an XPS 13 2-in-1 vs Surface Pro video, especially comparing them for how they function as tablets (ergonomics, screen performance, active pen, etc), and how they compare as laptops (not for power, as we already have seen, but for screen quality, keyboard, etc).

Photoshop does a lot more when asked to put Camera Raw on a smart object than just launching Camera Raw from a raw file. Every smart object (unless converted to a linked file) is basically an encapsulated PSD; hence more cpu / hard drive time needed to save / refresh / open it.

Don't judge me too harshly for being shallow, but I simply cannot get over the webcam being at the bottom. I would take an s6 edge display style with a bit more on top for the webcam (or if they moved the damn speakers to the top)

Linus Tech Tips showed that it is compatible with eGPUs. Will you be able to play a whole night of games? No. But you can't even do that with some U series laptops. Depends on their cooling methods. If you want to play games, Razer has the Razer Blade. 4 pounds, quad core i7, GTX1060. Do not get the QHD version lest you want NO battery.

Hello Lisa, could you do a smack-down of the Lenovo Yoga 720 13" with this Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 and/or the HP Spectre X360? Any review or information on the new Yoga 720 would be great! I wish they'd made the new XPS 15 quad core convertible. I would give it a real USP given there's no mainstream competition for it - only the niche Vaio canvas which uses an old processor and has a small screen. They really messed up this one with the weak processor otherwise I would have been tempted.

@michaelreynolds2358 жыл бұрын
I own this machine.. USB-C to USB cord isn't a problem. I do notice that the screen brightness will very briefly increase and decrease at times while using. The i5 processor is plenty fast enough for me and the standard screen resolution is great. The laptop is super light and compact. Lisa didn't mention that there is no fingernail indention on the lid which makes this 2n1 a bit harder to open up. I wish that Dell had made their lid logo light up like the Apple MP but this Dell XPS 13 2n1 is a LOT cheaper than the Apple MP and comes with MS Windows 10 which I think is a plus.

Loko8 the best value I decided on a few months ago was the Lenovo 710s. Got it bout £600+. Dual core Kaby lake, iris graphics, decent FHD screen no touchscreen, 256 SSD (and a fast one too). Really good quality all in all for the price. Weighs just under 1.2kg which is lighter than the xps 13. Only thing that needs improvement is battery life, which is about 5 or more hours on normal use. I suspect the iris graphics drains more power than typical hd graphics. Check it out. :)

Hello Lisa. I have a few questions. I am a big fan of Dell family, I purchased the 1 you're going over, yes it is nice expensive machine, I have the core I7, I needed a fast mid size-lightweight laptop , so I can easily travel with it, I use it only for work, I trade online, so I needed some thing that would process and edit lots lots of a high quality images fast, however I got the Dell xps 13 2 in 1, it's all good except one thing, it's get overheat, why? some times I think that I made the wrong decision, as for the almost same price, I could have Mac, I just don't like Apple, HP was also an option, but I choose Dell.
