That’s debatable. She’s done multiple videos about how every time their journey was interrupted, they would travel the world and try to reset etc etc. the average couple can’t EVER afford IVF, let alone weeks or days off to travel the globe to forget the disappointment. I was adopted and lemme tell you, you guys have made one of the greatest decisions ever. You’ve blessed little Story more than you’ll ever know. She will grow up knowing she was so loved and chosen! Also to have a birth mother who was selfless to go through all of pregnancy and birth so she had an incredible chance at life is something you should tell her because it’s such a beautiful thing. She also is packing for traveling on plane so that could also account for the extra clothes especially if she doesn't how long she'll be out of town and doesn't want to pick up clothes while out of town. But even as someone not blessed enough to be a mom I know it's probably too many clothes unless they'll be staying for an extended stay.

Watching you ‘chaos pack’ for this little one while being filled with all the emotions… it’s heartwarming, and a little funny (because it shows that you’re nervous, but caring, and overpacking, and unsure…). You’ll figure it out, no differently than someone that grew and birthed a child. YOU are her momma, you’ll know her better than anyone, and she will know that she can go to you with absolutely anything, forever. You guys got this!! (Also, put the diapers, wipes, and changing pad/blanket on top next time for easy access!)

Thank you for sharing your experience! What a wonderful perspective that your adopted parents had and instilled in you. So often I've known & seen adopted kids who found out they were adopted "accidentally" and then they ended up only thinking that their birth mother was somehow "less than" or was some kind of horrible person. Granted, that is sometimes the truth but why burden the child with ideas like that, ya know? Aside from adopting you, that's the best gift they gave you! ❤

I was adopted too when I was a new born. Hearing your story has helped me so much to understand more of my story. I never knew what my parents went through and what they thought. And I know my mom probably felt very similar to you. She even said to the same thing you did. That the most important thing was for me to know how much they loved me and how much my bio mom loved me. Thank you for bringing stuff into perspective for me. I am so happy for you both and your little baby. I already know she can feel your love and she loves you right back. A good tip that I recommend is washing all of the baby clothes/swaddles in non- scented baby laundry detergent, and sterilizing all the bottles and pacifiers before use. ❤😊

100 percent agree with the last comment and I’m sure there is a lot of helpful comments here. I also can tell you’re overwhelmed and excited! I’m so happy for you! Not trying to mark it even more overwhelming or bombard you with more info but I have some tips, if the hospital she is being born at allows this I would recommend delayed cord cutting and delayed bathing. I know delayed bathing can sound kind of gross it is sooo good for the baby. Also you’re packing a lot of stuff! 💜! You won’t need that much stuff unless you plan on being away from home for a couple of weeks. Also the knotted gowns are awesome and so cute and comfey but they don’t work with car seats. Personally I would pack some moser of those zip up onesies it the footies they are also pretty handy and make diaper changing easy as well but also work with buckling baby in car seat. You’re going to be such a good mom! I can already feel the love you’ll be showering your baby with. Also I love how you are incorporating the birth moms love in the baby’s life as well. Also last tip you’ll need another diaper bag for this trip too 😉.

I don’t know why this came up in my feed or why I clicked on it as I’m 38 and a women who has never felt any longing for a child ever. I never imagined a life with burp pads, bottles, diaper blow outs ect. However, watching you pack all these items and seeing how excited you are for motherhood is really something. I have no doubts you’ll make the best mom. My best friend growing up was adopted as an infant by a couple who also went on an infertility journey. She had a great life growing up. I could always feel how much her parents loved her, and how much she loved them. I hope you get your baby and you all have a wonderful road ahead.

Being a parent is something special, when it gets hard always remember you WILL get used to each new and individual challenge. The reward of being around little spirits is unmatched. Young kids are so much fun and I can’t imagine my life without them. Also Wild Bird slings are THE best I’ve tried the self wrapping ones and they just aren’t the same! It hit a all time high in the UK last year with 108.000 kids in the system. It brings it close to home.
