If you can measure the inner(!) diameter of the filter basket, I might know something better!

@@mjbartending using a tape measure (not a caliper), it’s 53/54. However, everyone says that it’s officially “51mm” I ordered a 51mm basket from a Chinese supplier on Amazon, and it’s too small.

@@phloem4 I did some research and could only find 51mm as a standard for all DeLonghi models. Is that 53/54 you measured the inner diameter (= the smallest?). If it is indeed closer to 53/54mm, an aliexpress seller has some 54mm unpressurized baskets intended for Breville machines. The store name is Dalinwell Office Store.

when do you start the timer?

Hey Hose, I start the timer as soon as I flip the DeLonghi's switch. This allows me to also time the "first drip" which is often a good indication of how long the total extraction will take. Generally with this set up first drip after 6-10 seconds is the safe zone. 6 seconds first drip usually amounts to 20secs total and 10 to 30-40.
