Delorean Go Kart Revival + Upgrades!

The Back to the Future go kart is back! We built this go kart to reach a top speed of 88mph, but we only ever reached 74mph because of aerodynamics. Today, we bring back the Delorean go kart, clean it up, and add a few upgrades for better performance, including the new Juggernaut torque converter driver.

Aluminum cutting with a thin disc grinder needs a pass through a bar of soap every so often keeps it from doing that

As looks go, my favorite. For safety grab some wax and run your wheel edge into the wax before cutting aluminum. It keeps it from gauling the wheel.

I've stumbled across a few KZbin vids recently where they're using smog pumps, or AMR300 roots blowers (tiny fellows) to supercharge their little 212 (or larger)engines. Have you two explored this concept? Use a draw through carb configuration, keep the compression low, and run billet rod, flywheel, etc. I know, I'm going to give it a try when I have some free time...

I have a high compression, Mod2 cam with 1.3 rockers, fully ported 212 running the Juggernaut and it's positively awesome. Any full throttle action under 30mph is instant wheelie. super smooth and controllable

I'm switching a tao 110 to just a motor and centrifugal clutch. Was wondering motor and clutch set up. Was going to buy a predictor 212 from harbor freight. What carb adjustments do I have to do for gas pedal?

FINALLY! I can't believe that I've been running the Juggernaut with the similar engine build ( EC Carburators Bansai .265 cam) on a Coleman EX for over a month before Cars and Cameras, RBG, BBR, or one of the other usual suspects did a video on it. I found the difference to be night and day over a stock 30 series drive clutch. Try it out on a mini bike with the same cam.

You guys should look at getting one of those diamond metal cut off wheels by rigid or diablo from home depot. They are where the cutoff disk are for your grinders. I love mine. I've cut steel and aluminum and even did some mild grinding on aluminum. The nice thing is if it accidentally binds it only bends the cutoff wheel a little. Use a pair of pliers to straighten it back up and your good to go again.

You can usually clean off aluminum from those blades and saw blades with Copper

My manco dingo with 420 chain still chunks with the torque convertor and just a stage one predator it's got some wicked torque with my big tires on it this throws grass everywhere I need a pre stretched chain and thinking about putting the old jackshaft style torque convertor on I think all the torqe is flexing the aluminum plate than and just small side to side engine movement with the torque makes the chain slip

I have also heard you need to change the oil often running alcohol. Also if you are grinding aluminum it can stick to the disk and then come loose and fly at you.

Take a look at you original manco dingo the torque convertor is much more stable using two bearings and a way longer shaft/engine riser this puts distributes the torque under the engine instead of the drive shaft side of the engine stopping the flex issue the TC plate can cause with this hi torqe set up or if you run some big ass tires in my opinion lmk what you guys think?

If the torque converter boosts low end torque but you lose some top end speed, go to a smaller rear sprocket to get the top end higher. The low end will still be great and you may get to the 88 mph you are looking for. Billlk

what was the autopsy on the Predator 670cc v twin engine from the drag rail ? my theory is it fried a crank bearing making it bend down on that side and flywheel hit ignition and that caused the sparks. this might have hurt all bearings on crank assembly due to offset load and seized it up.. this usually can also fck up the ignition by demagnetizing it and make it real weak. sparks looked like when a flywheel come loose and collide.

E85 alone is ok, its the blended gas that has the troubles with sitting.

They are also using canned gas which is not the same as what you buy at the pump, since canned has stabilizers added.

It’s not a perfect fix, but if you need to cut aluminum with a cutoff wheel, run it through beeswax first. Keep it coated, aluminum won’t stick.

Hey what would make a gokart feel better with stage 2 predator 212 with china clone converter? It jerks when taking off and top speed is way reduced with 48t sprocket and 10t gear #420 chain. Has red spring in driver does anyone know the difference in springs?

Green spring on driven pulley is better for top end speed and yellow spring which I run on my stage2 predator 212cc engine gives more torque and engagement in later rpms
