looks complicated why not reproduce an old gleaner or massy combine that was being built in the 70s. from the look of it your taking a few steps back in technology.

"from the look of it your taking a few steps back in technology." No. From YOUR look at it AND Your LACK of KNOWLEDGE it seems to be a step back in tech. But these combines arent steps back in technology, they are an top of todays technology, only compressed in smaller size than usual. "reproduce an old gleaner or massy combine" Doesnt help here. These old irons are far to big, to broad, outdated tech too. These machines are part of the evaluation process for new crops. The evaluation of new crops needs to be done on fields which are divided in many little plots with changing conditions, therefore it is needed to harvest every single plot seperately and to take one or more samples of every plot. This can be seen in the video, after the combine stopped, between 0:35 and 0:40 where the second man on the harvester readies a new paperbag for the next plot. These machines also are known as "Seed Research Equipment" - this name talks a lot, doesnt it? And - lets be clear about this - using an old stale MF30 for this job is just a nightmare, bad cleaning, load, dirty - and painstakenly slow......

Forget it. This machine is not fit for jumping through rice paddies, It cant compare againt a todays KUBOTA or ISEKI or one of the other specialised harvesters.....
