Great video. Can you please do a follow up on how to use the saw properly and how the fence works? Thanks 😊

It may take a while, but I sure can do a detailed video on how to use this saw safely. I work crazy hours and will eventually get around to it. Thanks for the suggestions and comments!

It would've been nice to see it tilted at least once. I've got one just like that I got a few months ago that's in good shape. You really did a good job cleaning it up

Thank you... thank you for using a magnetic paddle switch. I believe that they are among the most important safety equipment you can add to vintage tools. I shudder whenever I see a light switch...lol The depth to which you went to clean up and tune up this old beauty was impressive. I also restore old iron and this saw is one of my favorites. Good power with OEM motor...even better with that beast it came with. The fence is accurate, easily tuned, and one of the best you can get on vintage iron. Well done...well worth a subscription.

These old rusty and heavy cast iron tools are a hidden treasure many do not know their value. I have a link belt that I have not put on yet and I think that will make a difference. Thanks for the kind comments!

I have one that was abandoned. Acquired it over 20 years ago. It sat out in the weather for a couple years. Also has the same Baldor motor. Mine was frozen up when I got it. Fortunately my friend George (RIP) owned an Electric Motor Shop. He offered to rewind mine in his spare time. Well worth the wait. I think he charged me $125. Running mine on 110 and it’ll happily cut through most anything. I just put a Link Belt on it the other day and that thing now Purrs. That Link Belt is the best $35 you’ll ever spend on this saw. See how your motor shakes at startup and especially shutdown? That will disappear with a link belt. Suddenly I am visualizing restoring the trunnions. GREAT SAW. Cheers.

I have a couple of belt drive tools and I will have to get some link belts. Thanks for the recommendation and comments!

I have a Rockwell model 9 myself. It's difficult to find the kind of 9" blade I want though, so I usually just run it with either an 8" blade or even a skilsaw blade since most of the stuff I cut is usually only about an inch thick. Mine has a Dayton 1.5hp 120/240 motor on it. Don't know if it is original to it either. I do find that with the smaller blades I use that it makes that motor feel even more powerful than it would with the 9" blade though. I have impact drivers but never can seem to remember to use them. I just grab a gear wrench and a ratchet/socket and go to work, lol, but I just get stuff good and snug. Never saw any reason to tighten stuff down like I was trying to "Hulk-out" on 'em.

I often us the impact driver to speed things up but have to be careful to not overtighten bolts. My first table saw when I was about 14 years old was a Rockwell 9 inch direct drive. I think it came from the JC Penney catalog. I never got another 9" blade and used a standard 7-1/4" like on a circular saw. Thanks for the comments!

great video. I learned a lot. I have this saw and am having problems aligning trunnion to adjust blade. With all four bolts loose, trunnion moves but not enough. At max adjustment I still have .1005 thousands out. Should I remove trunnion and elongate bolt mounting holes? Please advise. Really like saw. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing your restoration. I have the exact same model as yours. I'm having problem with blade scraping cover when heading toward 45 degrees. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have not made any cuts at 45 degree but have had no issue moving it to that angle. Does it still scrape if the blade is lowered? One thing I have done since this video is replaced the old drive belt with a link belt amzn.to/4bfzqeE This belt eliminated all motor vibrations. Sorry for the delayed response, I work crazy hours. Thanks for the comments!

great job done there, I'm in the Uk just been gifted a saw which is the same as yours, i need to find the fence rail spacers, can you still get parts.?

I needed 4 on this one and made them from some plastic feet that came with a wall mount TV bracket. Using a Dremel tool I made them concave on the end for the rail. Also used 4 bolts and rounded the heads so they would slip into the rail then with a Dremel cutter wheel, made a slot for a flat screwdriver. Hope that helps and thanks for the comments!

I have one of these saws but the Riving Knife is missing. there is a hole for a round rod in the back where it must have had one. Any idea where i might find one?

I just watched your video "Delta-Rockwell Model 10 Contractor's Table Saw Restoration". You did an amazing job. I am currently trying to restore the same saw and I have run into a problem that you didn't covered on your video. It has to do with raising the blade. I am not sure how the elevation shaft is secured to the trunnion. Also, my pointer assembly is in two pieces with the "pointer being separated from the mounting "tube"? But my main concern is how I secure the elevation shaft to the trunnion. Any help would be very much appreciated.

There are drawings available for this Model 10 saw. It may take a few days and I will put some links in the description where they can be found. Thanks for the comments and I hope you restoration goes well.

Using the diagrams available, I am still having a problem figuring out how the pointer mounts to the blade elevation shaft. Can you explain to me what the pointer is secured to? @CarveTools
@CarveTools
@CarveTools 5 ай бұрын
Look around 20:10 this where I inserted the elevation worm gear shaft and it is held in place with a nut, which I did not show. The pointer assembly was inserted after mounting the cast iron top to the cabinet. Once the blade is at 90 degrees the pointer is to be adjusted to zero then tighten the set screw on the pointer assembly. On page 12 of the Instruction Manual: vintagemachinery.org/pubs/1141... it kind of explains the adjustment of the pointer. Page 3 of the Parts Diagram: vintagemachinery.org/pubs/1141... shows the assembly. I hope these links work and if not, they are in the video description. Thanks for the comments and I hope your restoration goes well.
