Fun fact: Even if Kris dies in the beginning of the battle (I got them killed). The voice still forces Noelle to kill Berdly. We know based on the Act system in chapter 1 and the dance exchange in chapter 2 that when Kris is "dead" in a battle they cant give commands. So the thing controling Noelle did not need Kris

We also see Berdly tear off the plug the Queen grabs him by if you resolve that fight violently. He actually cripples his arm in the process. I don't think Berdly is supposed to be a bad person, he's just egotistical and a bit of an idiot (ok, he's kind of a massive idiot, albeit one that can apparently spell well). He can be downright heroic when it really matters.

She's already mentally scarred by this point, now having to fight her friend... and she's being told to do something that she doesn't know the consequences of. I really love this animation! It should have been obvious that Snowgrave would be more brutal, so there's gotta be another explanation. We know that Noelle's mind goes blank when she panics (freezing the salesman and the mouse puzzle) so maybe the same thing happens when she gets mad? Like in a normal run when Berdly says he likes Susie and Noelle starts shaking him with a crazed look on her face. Maybe her mind went blank from anger and she didn't consider how brutal "snow" and "grave" together sounded.

The Soul has absolute control over Kris. If Kris had any agency at that moment, they would've most likely laid their weapon down, to avoid the fight taking place and to stop Noelle's corruption. The Soul doesn't just give orders... it fully controls Kris, hence us players being able to control where they move and who they interact with. Kris doesn't want this... but the Soul makes them smile against their will.

Kris was disturbed by the route if Susie and Ralsei's reactions are anything to go by. Enough responsibility dodging: If a player did the Snowgrave Route, THEY are the ones who corrupted Noelle, not Kris. It's not that Kris is an innocent person and they're definitely a creepy kid who slashes tires, but they also didn't like seeing their childhood friend get turned into a murderer.

I like how during when "Kris" is telling Noelle to use Snowgrave, you can hear the normal voice-over for regular characters and not just Noelles voice. I like to think this is Kris telling us to stop as well, but it ultimately fails because their voice is too "quiet". Other than that, the animation is amazing! There are actually a few things going around basically confirming that Kris's will is different from the Player's will. I think Kris would have a different reaction.

One thing I find strange is Kris ripping out his soul at the end of both chapters. Hell, at the end of chapter two, Kris ended up creating a dark fountain in the light world. So if their will is different, Kris's is probably more murderous while the Player's is more manipulative.

I really like how, when Kris/the player tells Noelle to use Snowgrave, the text for the choice flashes on screen, completely blocking out anything else, glitching and invading Noelle's mind. It's a great animation, and I really like it. But people are quick to shift blame. Kris didn't like this. It sickened them, and Noelle even comments that the voice commanding her isn't Kris. The player is the one calling the shots, *you're* calling the shots. Own up to it.

Berdly will probably end up sacrificing himself in the neutral route in a later chapter. The theme of Deltarune is that our choices won't matter. Berdly is the type to sacrifice himself for his friends at the first opportunity to prove his metal.

@@Knux5577 same, honestly. Your choices *do* matter to the people and events around you (hell, birdly is fucking dead because of you.), but it all leads to the same general ending. It may be mius a few characters or items, or everyone you love, but a prophecy is a prophecy. Kris will seal the fountain, and later on a new one will appear, wash rinse repeat. But no matter how singular the ending is, you still have those you have helped or spared by your side, and those who you've lost are absent. That's my take though, it's just a theory. Maybe Toby really will do some crazy thing where everything really DOES change things in the end or something, idk.

Great animation that really captures the emotions on display. The cruel smile on Kris's face was particularly chilling, especially at the end; it's like the Soul is celebrating the destruction of *both* individuals or its complete domination of Noelle. A wish for the future if you ever revisit the concept would be to include the scene that unfolds when Berdly successfully subdues Kris. Having Kris go down and Berdly breathe a sigh of relief, only to realise with mounting horror that Noelle is still under thrall, would be a nice little note of drama.

Honestly I have 2 characters, zero and dark, and I imagine a timeline where they find themselves the game, also in that timeline, in the snow-grave Route, noelle normally walks away, in this timeline, dark wont let her (due to multiple reasons related to zero and dark which I won't go into as they have a slight ARG explaining them) Dark ends up taking control over Noelle at the very end, whilst zero is stuck in a Cutscene, unable to stop dark from doing anything, and with Noelle, Dark would basically be mentally destroying her sanity... meanwhile in the scene where Susie enters Noelle's room it would play similarly to what was presumed to happen... But what if Dark chose to do something? (If you want to give any ideas, then reply if you want to) Please note this might be somewhat of a silly/stupid idea, I don't expect many people to care, but it was just a thing I imagined up and wanted to tell someone about it, yes it's unrelated to the comment, yes it doesn't matter, if you want to expand upon any details or ask questions about it, you can...

I saw once a cool theory, but don't remember who said it. In it, it was supposed that Noelle did use (when she was younger) Snowgrave (in a way or another) and passed out from it. It would be what would have caused the strongly implied death of her sister, and Asriel and Kris would have seen it, but were fortunately far enough to escape it. So, through Kris' knowledge of the existence of the spell, WE can force Noelle to use it. (also was supposed maybe that why the spell is called "Snowgrave", because of being snow related magic and having killed someone already. It would both be cool but sad if it was true)

I know a lot of people have their... let's say issues, with Berdly as a character, but I love him. He can be idiotic, and he can be egotistical at times, but he's also got a lot more to him. He's a kid who needs validation to feel like he's doing things right, and he can be selfless when he realizes his friends are in danger. Even if it's in his own stupid way, he does try to be a good person for those he's close with. I mean he puts his all into saving Noelle, and after becoming friends with the main trio he's willing to literally cripple his arm to help them. Honestly, one of my favorite characters.

I could only think of two possible additions that would make this better: Having Noelle actually Wearing the Thorn Ring, Even if it's only seen when she's casting Snowgrave, and maybe a little bit of blood oozing from where it's hurting her? The other thing is when Kris gets downed in the fight, Berdly tries to encourage Noelle over to him, but she can still hear the SOUL telling her what to do.. That could add another juicy layer.
