Came here to say that, yeah. Specifically, the _first_ time it happens, it's a giant iron pencil, that you have to use the "Pencil Eraser" for, which is a pretty good pun itself. The second time, it's a giant iron _eraser,_ which you have to get an Eraser Eraser for. Tying everything back to toilets somehow, Earthbound also makes fun of the "protagonists can never use the bathroom" trope, even having a dude sprint past you in a hotel yelling "whhhoaaaa coming through!" or something like that, and slams the bathroom door before you can even take a step. He never comes back out. Trust me, I have a Ness pfp. I know what I'm talking about lmao

A small correction for the Tasque Manager Fight, each of your characters actually have a unique "Order" dog sprite. Unfortunately due to what I can only assume is a bug, they don't appear properly and can only be seen in the "afterimage" as shown in the video. I think someone got them to trigger properly by doing them one character at a time? You definitely should show off the ones for Kris and Ralsei as well.

"In reality, it may be impossible to win" has two meanings to me, the first, is that the next shadow crystal may be in the light world, or, in other words, reality, and it will be nearly impossible to get since you have no leadership over the light world. Second, he may just be saying that it will still be in a dark world, just, that it'll be insanely hard to get the crystal.

I dunno if it's been discussed yet, but there's an "unused" item called the Pure Crystal that is related to the Shadow Crystals. It can be partially seen in game, as part of a fusing recipe w/ Malius for something called the Twisted Sword, implying it'll be used in the final game & is just a teaser for now. The description reads "The shadow purified by the cat", implying that the Pure Crystal is the end result of collecting the Shadow Crystals.

Considering that the Ring can be acquired in the Alternate route, but kept if the player abandons the route, it'll be interesting to see what use the Twisted Sword might have in a neutral route (a twisted route perhaps). The name 'Twisted Sword" makes me think of the sword used by Fierce Deity Link in Majora's Mask. The rest of this comment is just some rambling about Fierce Deity stuff. The FD Mask being described as "Could this mask's dark powers be as bad as Majora?." has led people to believe that their is some Evil force behind it's power. But the form Link takes is inspired by the "Fierce Deities" of the Shingon Buddhist pantheon, who are fierce and wrathful toward the negative forces that work against humanity's enlightenment, but are benevolent and supportive of humanity.

This kinda means that if what you are saying is true than he wants to see the light or the light world cause heaven is symbolized with bright light. It would also explain why he's crazy because he's also aware that he's is not a real person but more like a spam bot or a person trying to give you a virus (just thought of this as I'm writing this, a spam bot or a account that spams virus is controlled or programed by a person like a puppet so maybe that's why he wants to see past the dark and into the light so that way he can become a real boy and not some account or bot controlled by someone else. An interesting observation with the teas you get in the city, is that you can figure out how much the characters like each other (since it's just water with a name stuck on it). For example Kris will get fully healed with Susie Tea, but only get 60 with Ralsei and around 70 with Noelle. Also Susie gets fully healed with everyone which is cute

9:30 The phone doesn't trigger Susie's dialogue here. What she hears is Lancer and she'll say it after a while if the player doesn't deploy Lancer and it's a way to get the player to know to use Lancer to escape. She will say this regardless of if you use the phone or not.

Your humble obscure Deltarune fact hunter, returning to once again aid in this fact-hunting nonsense! 4:07 - I'm pretty sure that Kris knowing how to play piano is just meant to be a character quirk, and not really anything deeper (and/or a reference to Toby Fox himself). And I'm VERY certain that Kris is mad at Susie making fun of their piano becaus under normal circumstances, they'd be able to play it well. But as they explained back in Chapter 1: "It's missing most of the good keys." I mean, just imagine you were really good at an instrument, then you tried playing a broken version of it, and someone laughs at your performance. I'm no betting boy, but I'm pretty sure you'd be at least a little ticked off too. 9:13 - The whole bit with Susie's dialogue about Kris's phone and Lancer making noise happens simply if you don't do anything and wait. But I guess calling on your phone sorta speeds that up. 14:15 - Susie's admiration of boxes was also seen a bit back in Chapter 1, most obviously with her dressing as a cardboard box for Halloween once. But something to note is that we TECHNICALLY don't know for SURE that Susie's home life isn't that great, but it is seemingly hinted at a bunch throughout Deltarune so far, so. 16:33 - Another thing about Tasque Manager (that you may have covered before, I can't remember) is that if you answer her quiz before the fight completely correctly, then she will start the fight at 100% Mercy and you can SPARE her instantly. Just a fun little thing. 23:32 - The bit about Seam noticing the Shadow Crystal and us apparently not noticing it was actually a bit more interesting when Chapter 2 first released, since if you had started Chapter 2 with a completed Chapter 1 Save File where you had beaten Jevil, you actually would not have seen a Shadow Crystal in your inventory. Because the first Shadow Crystal that you get from defeating Jevil was actually added in an update. And, similarly, the dialogue that plays when you look through the Spamton Glass also got changed in a patch. It used to be the same as the Jevil Glass dialogue. Maybe not that important, but I found it noteworthy to at least mention. Though I do think it's a bit strange that Toby keeps updating the Shadow Crystals. A part of me kinda feels like there's something more to read into there, but who knows. 22:49 - I'm putting this at the end because it's a LOT more theory than fact. I was discussing the dialogue whenever you use the Glass item(s) in the Light World with a buddy. And he brought up the idea that the second dialogue about Susie staring at Kris coldly COULD be reflecting the fact that Spamton got abandoned by people he viewed as friends. Between that, and the... ...a-hem...VERY VERY INTERESTING dialogue with the first Glass, about Kris thinking they see a hole through their hand, my pal then brought up the idea that maybe the Glass items "reflect" the way that the Jevil and Spamton "broke", so to speak. But in a similar breath, they could also "reflect" something else. They could be foreshadowing how Kris's story itself may eventually "reflect" the stories of the Mad Darkners. Maybe Kris betrays Susie, or something happens to Susie herself that causes her to fight us or something. Maybe Kris becomes involved with Gaster. Which, I personally have a theory that maybe Kris is already getting help from Gaster, due to how Kris seems to be setting up specific events to play out (for example the end of Ch.2). Playing chess master, so-to-speak. It just seems odd to me that Kris knew to plug in the TV in-between Chapters 1 and 2, and also slash the tires of Toriel's car, so that he could get Susie to stay over and maybe send her, Toriel, and himself to a TV Dark World by opening a Dark Fountain. I mean, Kris was just a normal kid before we started controlling them. It's just weird to me that they can play chess master like this. And actually, a small addendum/edit since I just thought of this: There are two instances in Chapter 2 that seem to imply Kris does indeed know about Gaster. In the talk after the Spamton NEO fight, and the scene where Susie scares off Snowy and Monster Kid at the south bunker door thing, Susie asks Kris about something that we as the audience know is related to Gaster. And in both interactions, its implied that Kris also understands the Gastery significance of things like Puppets, Strings, Hands, and the bunker door (with the whole 666% slowed down Gaster theme thing).

I wonder what Susie looking at kris coldly when kris looks through the shadow crystal could be foreshadowing. If all you can see of the crystal is its shadow, what does that mean in this case? It could mean the shadow of how she thought of kris maybe, the way she acted in the start of chapter 1 could be weighing on her. Could also be something in the future, or maybe, the alternate path, snowgrave. Its probably been checked of the shadow crystal has different text in snowgrave, so its probably something in the future.

i think the crystal allows you to see into a different dimension or world. (ex. when in the dark world, it gives you a glimpse of the light world) I think susie looking coldly is a glimpse into another world where susie and kris never became friends. in chapter 1, the crystal lets you see through your hand. i think this means it showed a world where kris didn't exist, kind of like what the Goner Kid in undertale was talking about

But I do think that there will be some strong connection between the shadows of the crystal and something related to the overall story. With what you said, the shadow could be yesterday, from our POV. Before the first day, kris wasnt there, he was in the world, but for us, there was no day beforehand. Before the second day, susie didn't know kris, and that is what we are seeing. The shadow of what once was.

Okay, so inside the dark world, the shadow crystals allow you to see through the darkness and into the light world again (card kingdom-->closet, cyber world->computer lab), but in the light world, it allows Kris to see through their own hand, not into the dark world. So now I'm trying to think of what that could mean, because we can't see through Susie, only her expression changes, but idk if that means too much. So the glass doesn't see through the light world, it sees through Kris specifically.

I didn’t know about getting the shadow crystals from the cliff. I’m very glad that’s a thing, since i had beat Jevil on my Switch but not on my PC (i played Deltarune on Switch before Chapter 2 was released). It still means i have to beat a secret boss but it wont be as bad, since Chapter 1 is shorter than Chapter 2.

I think that the secret boss of chapter 3 will be flowey. When Seam speaks about the next secret boss, he says that “In reality, it may be impossible to win”, that line is awfully similar to a line that Alphys says about flowey when defending you from flowey in the pacifist route of undertale. We also know where a flowey fight could take place, the trash can. One of the requirements to fight flowey could have to do with the boutique of flowers and having to have given them to toriel. but idk.

I doubt Jevil and Spamton going mad was after looking through the crystal and seeing the "reality" of their world. This is bcuz an obvious thing, whole plan of Spamton was to get and use the power of the machine (the crystal), he couldn't have had it before. But also in and after Queen's battle she shows she's aware she exists inside the computer lab and that the internet of the town is down, and she seems fine (sane at least).

...yeah, the iris-out sound effect is definitely inspired by SMW, but SMW was not the first to do a sound effect for iris-out. The best example is select Looney Tunes cartoons directed by Bob Clampett, who made their own iris-out sound effect with Clampett's voice. (Boo-woop!) Of course, it doesn't really matter. So... what happens if you do that Ferris wheel thing with Jevilstail equipped on Susie? Would it just be the same as usual? I mean, Susie commented "I always wanted a tail" or something to that effect when you equip Jevilstail to Susie...

I’m gonna post this again because I have such faith in this theory. Here's something quite interesting that not many have picked up on which I think you’d find intriguing: Gaster, from Undertale, seems to mirror a character from Xenoblade Chronicles, named Klaus, as their backstories line up pretty well. Two scientists, who were involved in space-time research, seemingly get pulled into their 'creation'. We can possibly put together what Gaster's deal is in DELTARUNE from what happens to Klaus after that moment (Of course, major spoilers for Xenoblade Chronicles up ahead): After Klaus is shattered across time and space, half of him is left in the original universe, broken and unable to affect the world around him, but also all-seeing. The other half is sent to the world that he created in his attempt to 'save' his race. Klaus gains control over the passage of 'fate' - a key plot point in DELTARUNE, and something that characters such as Ralsei, Seam, Jevil and Spamton allude to - and becomes a completely different kind of person. He creates a massive Titan as a sort of 'Body' under his control, which his creations live on, named the Bionis. He then begins destroying and recreating his own world 'many times', each time without any kind of 'sentient' life forms, experimenting with his power in a way similar to Flowey or the Player in Undertale. But then Klaus, at this point known as Zanza, starts to long for friendship. So he creates 'sentient' life, and along with this, a 'physical form': The Monado. A sword with similar abilities as the Player's Red SOUL, from Undertale. It has the power to 'change fate'. Eventually, Zanza creates a VESSEL, to passively house and re-strengthen his Soul, after he and an opponent are defeated in a battle. Like Gaster in Undertale, Zanza has 'followers'. These followers know his origin, are tasked with keeping his creations in check until he returns, and are promised 'eternal life'. No matter what path his creations take, it will lead to the 'Bionis', which of course is one of Zanza's physical forms, awakening and destroying the world (see the similarities with the Roaring), which is one of the main driving points of the game. And coincidentally, the Vessel that Zanza creates is the only one who can use the Monado's true power (so, in effect, this vessel is the only one who can change fate). I’m not sure how much of this will be relevant in the end, but there are also other characters in Xenoblade Chronicles that mirror DELTARUNE characters, such as Dickson at this point in the story mirroring Ralsei, trying to push the 'fated narrative' forward as much as possible. Like Ralsei, he knows that everything is predestined (Ralsei mentions that the entire journey should go 'exactly' as foretold by the prophecy), and 'Recruits' people from different areas on Bionis to form an 'allied force' similar to how Ralsei is asking us to 'Recruit' Darkners from each Dark World. I think that the Knight may play a similar role to Egil, both characters deliberately trying to 'oppose' the will of the god of their universes, but to no avail, as everything is predestined. On top of what I’ve said, it seems that Gaster is somehow involved in the creation of the prophecy as shown by him.png 1 and 2, thus giving him even more similarity to Zanza making a 'prophecised' outcome. Finally, Gaster lowers your Execution Point level GREATLY upon dying (as shown by the battle stats he has in Undertale's code), which implies that killing Gaster is actually a good thing. What do you think of this stuff? Is it all just nonsense? Am I just deluded? Personally I think that Gaster and Zanza will be similar to eachother, but that’s just my theory.

I find how the text is rendered interesting. The colored text has a small gradient similar to Petscop, a game of very similar world ideas. There's an overworked that is very small and an underworld not seen by many that is humongous in comparison.
