That's why when people use abuse like that to justify murder or to say "that's why they did that" can be a bit erroneous because not only does it attempt to obscure responsibility for peoples actions but it paints everyone who was a victim of abuse as a future offender. I don't care what a person has been through honestly there are hundreds of people that suffer abuse and don't kill other people because of it.

Few things here. Im from NZ have had to deal with Tony Dixon on a few occasions. He was very well known in South Auckland in my youth as a Car thief , in and out of jail he then got a promotion to become a meth dealer and a meth head. This whole saga was around Meth and his paranoia that these two girls were shafting him. James (who Tony killed) was NOT shopping it was 1am in the morning, outside Placemakers (a hardware store) that closes at 5pm, he was there to meet Tony to do a drug deal. Tonys paranoia and aggression caused an argument and Tony fired a gun. Tonys sob story to try to get off this charge was to pretend he was crazy. HE WAS not crazy. His sob story about his childhood is a load of bull. It was to try to get a reduced sentence. He was always an oxygen thief and now his son is exactly the same. In and out of jail. His sister is just as nutty and a liar.

As soon as you started describing his childhood, I went, "Yep, that checks out." When you're raised in that kind of environment, where literally every adult you know has hurt you to THAT extent, it's absolutely no surprise he grew up to project that kind of view onto everyone and everything else. Part of me wonders if he could've turned out better if he had gotten more help early enough. Still, my heart goes out to those two women and that poor man. The fact that Renee and Simone survived against this guy is a frickin miracle, all things considered. Wish we could say the same for James. It's so, so scary to think that you could be doing what you do every day, minding your own business, and STILL end up the target of some random wacko. May he rest in peace and I hope his family stays well.

He would come with her and would visit every house in the street. Anthony's mother ran a house she would lease out to strangers or home boarders. His sister advised everyone that he was chained up to the wash line and then r a ped by one of the men who boarder in the house. He was also not only a user of drugs but also a supplier. That's what would have feed his addiction. At school he was always in trouble. When he did kill himself he had around a million dollars earnt from being a drug supplier. This did explain his behavior he displayed at school. RIP Anthony and the man he killed.

Ok I grew up, with 4 sibs, in an extremely toxic household. Both my younger sister and I experienced sexual abuse at the hands of our father. My older brothers were raised to be sexist, misogynistic swine like my dad, who in turn was protected by my mum and her backwards Victorian upbringing. My eldest brother and I are both very much on the spectrum, too. HOWEVER. several years ago I made the decision to leave and move to the other side of my country. Since then, though times have stiill been tough, I thrive. I have wonderful people around me who believe in support, not the beat-downs I was continually exposed to. I have no doubt at all that had I stayed in my parents' toxic vicinity, that they would have continued to engage in relentless emotional blackmail and manipulation. My eldest brother, though (always a very weak person in terms of character) chose the easy route and continued to stay within their grasp. He still is in their grasp, a coddled little mommy's boy - even though now he is in his mid-60s and my parents are in their 90s. He is easily the one most likely to break under emotional pressure, because he would rather put up with them riding him and paying for his living expenses, than choose freedom, like I did all those years ago. He is now a miserable, broken man. I am happier than I ever was before and far from broken. So what I am trying to get at here is life is what you make of it. Are you going to let your abusers continue to abuse you? Then, yes, you will be very susceptible to using hard drugs like meth for an escaps. Or are you going to dig for the inner strength to leave and never look back? The choice, my friends, is yours. Hari Om

I see Nero, I'm happy :D But honestly, I think this is a typical case of "Don't f*** up your kids". But of course not everyone who has an abusive childhood ends up like him, so it is always mostly the persons fault and his psychological problems can't save him from his punishment, especially when he uses drugs because he decided to take them knowing they alter his mental state.

As a kiwi, I must congratulate you on your pronunciation of Maori and Maori words. You are one of the few I have seen who has said it correctly!!! I remember seeing this happing on tv, it was crazy... things like that don't happen here (or at least they didn't used to). After finding out more about that guy, yeah he didn't have much of a chance and everyone who should have looked after him as a child failed him. Still. Getting high on P and going on a rampage is not excusable.

This is so sad. I grew up in a toxic, dysfunctional home and it's so hard to heal from it. Not justifying what he did as clearly what he did was wrong. I do think we need more support for kids and adults that grew up in abuse to help them heal and lead healthy lives.

I had an extremely traumatic childhood. Suffered the consequences of that childhood for 40+ years, never had the urge to attack others. I don't understand how an abused person can go and abuse someone else. I personally have no sympathy for him. Survivors that hurt others are the worst
@aerostrafe10754 ай бұрын
You sympathize with the child who was abused. Its also silly to think that just because one handles abuse that none else can be broken by it. Not making excuses for the guy but explaining its not that simple. He definitely should of been put somewhere that he could get help years and years before this got that bad.
