So heartbreaking to hear about the peri sores causing sepsis. Families need more education and more help with these things, peri care is so important, and they had no idea anything was wrong because they were truly doing their best and applying creams and changing appropriately. Thank you for sharing these stories, sounds like y’all took the best care of him as you could.

It's nice to hear your dad was worried about feeding the basketball players. My dad gets super angry, most times for no reason, except I walked in the kitchen with him in it. My mom's brother is paranoid frequently. He disappeared from the assisted living without telling anybody. He's convinced that people have stolen from him if he misplaces anything. He is also very angry.😢

Peri care!!! I work as a private in-home Palliative/Hospice/End-Of-Life caregiver and found the part of this video re lack of pericare - and eventual comorbidities - concerning.

My mom has a thing that she keeps doing and isn't aware how many times we've do this for her. She says a lotion for her face isn't good causes drying. So we take it back, and get another kind we've done this 8 times. I've tried telling her you need a referral to a dermatologist for something for your face. She just gets mad and says, in the mean time, I need some different face lotion! We stand in different stores for over an hour each time! Please tell me there's something a doctor can give her. She makes appointments with primary physicians secretly. Then gets a driver to come pick her up!!!!! She tries to go walking outside by herself. I've been recovering from covid and can't go after her, I send my daughter. Her social worker thinks she's just fine. Because she puts on the " show" for her. Help.
