Found it so important ended up burnt out and having a break down had to put her into respite for a few days and then take time for myself after she passed a old girlfriend reached out to me it felt so good to talk and walk with her but I then thought guilt when I should be grieving my loss and not feeling joy now I’m getting back on track and setting goals and walking daily and keeping the endorphins flowing 😊❤

Dr. Natali, even through your own lived experience with your father (my deepest sympathy ) you have been a guiding force for so many! I recall when I first saw your channel the one most important thing I learned from you was that I had to learn to change my behaviour as I was caring for my mother . I did lose her three months ago. I am still caregiving for a sibling. All your principles and pearls of wisdom still apply, even for someone without dementia. Thank you. This video on “life care “ could not come soon enough. 🤗🥰

Both of my parents passed away in the last year and a half, but the one thing that was non negotiable while I was actively caring for both of my parents was working out with my personal trainer - for my physical and mental health. I was fortuneate that he was flexible enough to move my workout if I had an emergency with one of my parents. The other was having a pedicure when the time allowed. I could wear my headphones and just meditate to soothing music or watch something funny. Peace and love to everyone. Thank you Dr. Natali!

Or find a solution to what ever part of caregiving that’s making it so difficult for you. Dementia care shouldn’t look like this. Our goal is to help them live as happy and normal as possible and love our life in the process. Other than that you will low key be waiting on your love one to die so you can live. That feeling wil make you feel guilty It’s all about living through this Ex. Your love one loves putting faeces everywhere or clogging up the toilet with a diaper Solution: dress them in a one piece that opens in the back only. They can’t open it so they can’t pull anything off.

I had to stop this video 3 times. I never watch a video more than 5 minutes without interruptions. He couldn't read the clock, the digital clock, that he used to read fine. He said "That doesn't make sense. It just says 5, two dots, and some squiggly lines. That doesn't make sense"...every day i want to cry because he's losing more and more abilities.
