Bicycle won't allow their design to be used on marked/gaffed/wonky cards but they will allow the use of maiden back designs for all of the above. It suits me because I use marked red maiden backs, so it's all good.

A fix for the 3 stuck cards at roof of case. As you hold the back of the case, just press down with your thumb on top of the rear section of the case in the middle. The slight downward flex of the case will make those cards drop. Do this as you tip the cards out. Totally invisible move.

Its already been said that bicycle will not allow gaffed cards using the standard deck. I want to add that many magicians that i know are switching over to the mandolin deck because they favor the cheap marked deck that penguin sells. It pairs well with mem deck tricks. I use the box in some of my tricks. Does the card box fit in it? It would be nice to pull out the box with the cards in it to start the routine. Then pull the cards out and then cut them in half. It seems like a pretty tight fit.

@brianmagicman3556 About ten years ago the manufacturer of Bicycle decks, the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC), took further steps to protect their brand, and this included trademarking the distinctive design of their classic 808 Rider Back. One consequence of this move is that alterations to the Rider Back design are no longer permitted. This had the effect of ruling out any further printings of marked versions that used this classic back design. But to meet the demand for marked decks in the Rider Back style, USPCC came up with two other back designs that do permit alterations and markings, and which to the casual observer look almost identical to the Rider Back: the 809 Mandolin Back (first released in 2010) and the 813 Maiden Back (first released in 2012. Not saying you can't get/don't have Rider printed gaffs, just that they are not permitted - hence Demi Deck doesn't use them.

Brian, Andy is correct USPCC used to allow gaffed Rider backs (I have whole decks of them too), but stopped allowing them about ten years ago, that's where the Mandolin backs came from - to look as close as USPCC would allow to a Rider back, but for gaffs.

Ya Bicycle is very protective of their back design now. The great thing is you can put that card right into a rider back deck and nobody would notice the difference. I do it all the time.

Showed this to my wife, who is not a magician. She said it looks weird... you have a clip at the front to stop the cards falling out, but you don't have a clip at the back when you swing it round to stop the cards falling out. Now I can't un-see it.

Really good review on this product, Gaffer! Maybe you could consider once a week or so of doing a review on a product! But even as a one-trick pony, I think it is a fantastic way to launch into a routine with other card tricks. Definitely looks like it's worth getting!

Great review, thanks for the honesty! The back choice was done because the maiden back cards are the hands down all time best marked cards (in my humble opinion). The surprise of the gaffed card reduced the chance that anyone will notice if you haven't got a maiden backed deck.

As a magician I pretty much figured out what it is just by watching you do it. You didn't flash or anything nothing like that I just guess I know what to look for. Seems like a pretty good trick for laypeople

Great review and agree with you about the bicycle card issue. I guess it takes some practice. Yiu seem to have it down. Too expensive for me. I have an idea about the gimmick. I don't like the name. Maybe Semi deck as in two? 🎉 Great illusion and ibsee why its selling like crazy. I liked the Mr Danger illusion thr best this year 🎉

The sticking cards (cards that you have to pull out of the box individually) would be a deal-breaker for me. While it might not seem like that big of a deal, anything that distracting that you have to constantly deal with would simply distract from the overall illusion... and not distracting in a good way as it looks like you're pulling a slight of some sort, so the viewer might start to wander off in their heads as to what is going on and miss out of some of the beauty of the illusion. Otherwise, I really like it. Nicely done.

Hi Pete. Of all the reviews yours is the most what can l say honest. You show us just about everything without giving away the secrets. It looks great, but the cards hanging up in the box can get annoying. Did you try doing it without using a full deck, say 49 cards. Or won't the gimmick work. A brilliant review😊👍👍😊👏👏🥃🥃🎃👻

Those 3 cards may stick due to the NARROWER walls the way it's built @ the top. The box is not *SQUARE* in o/words. I doubt it's leather...vinyl can smell the same, & for the PRICE, it's most likely NOT. It's nice that you took the time to review it, & based on what you've stated & shown, it's a *TOTAL* waste of *$$$.*

Its not for me. Like the review though. When i saw it i figured out the trick vey quickly. I think that someone could make something like this fore themselves for far less money and get the same effect. Maybey a cut a deck of cards in their box would be more interesting

The cards that are not able to come out are really annoying! Maybe it's something wrong with your gimmick cause I haven't seen that behavior in other videos. The trick seems cool, I keep thinking that it's a bit angly.
