I think the reason you can't sustain those higher notes is because you have poor breath support. I am a singer and I take lessons, so I'm just some ignorant wannabe know-it-all. You have a really nice voice and it could be exponentially expanded if you breathed lower and into your diaphragm. Your shoulders should never move in an up and down fashion while singing, it signifies shallow breathing, which doesn't allow the air to flow for proper singing technique. Just try it. :)

It sounds too pushed and strained when you belt. It doesn't sound very good at all. But when you're not belting, it's your sweet spot, you're not a powerhouse so don't try to be because when you're just chill it improves a lot.

Katie, you barely stayed longer than a two seconds on the high notes. Really? C'mon. You also don't seem to have your own true "style." I feel that your just copying the song directly. This generation needs something different for each celeb. If you think the way you struggle to keep a high note and hiding it by a large breath, you're wrong. Look, I like you. I do, but you seem too scared to reach for a high note and actually keep it for a while. It only lasts a second and you let out a breathy sigh as if it's going to hide everything. You need to take risks! And back to style (I'd put it in one para, but mobile sucks. :/), Demi is known for her very high notes. Look at Heart Attack LIVE or by CD, she still keeps it strong. Taylor Swift has her songs about boyfriends!

I believe that certain voices shouldn't be overstepped because it can destroy their instruments which are their voice. I believe she went into a reasonable vocal range which exemplifies and enhances her voice. She also seems to have added a little bit of a twist if you listen to 1:50. So every singer does add a little twist but I feel that it's not always necessary. You're entitled to your opinion as am I. But I feel that you should have another opinion to diversify your music palette :) ty for reading
