Idk how I feel about this… I understand that Demi was super young and traumatized by this bullying experience. But with that being said, the girl who did it was only like 11/12 years old too & wasn’t nearly mature enough to understand the weight of her actions. I know Demi keeps saying she doesn’t blame this girl for her eating disorder and hardships, but the bitterness in her tone about the whole phone call is telling me otherwise. I’ve been bullied too growing up & I understand the long lasting effects of it, but I don’t have any hatred towards the kids who did it because we were all different people back then. It seems bizarre to me that Demi is still so angry at this girl over a decade later & is basically implying that this one little girl “ruined her life”…

I didn’t bully someone else in return, I waited and after high school going out to the bars I saw my bully(ie’s)and guess what? 4 years of lifting weights daily and puberty turned me into the bully to them. Do I regret it? HELL NO! That was some of the best times in my life! They got me first but patience and dedication gave me a feeling I could never get from anything else. Was I as cruel to them? Nah, cuz all it took was them running into me a few times and them acting like we were actually good friends back in junior high. Once they acted like little kiss asses around me I never felt like a victim again. The big fish of the pond pulled me in with no question. They didn’t have the time to focus on me back then. They just saw how everyone else treated me and figured I was an equal. Gotta say it was a horrible time for a few years but then it was the best time of my life. The only thing that was different between the old me and the new me minus a large amount of size was confidence. I never looked at people the same. If getting bullied by a few guys in school taught me this lesson then thank god I did something about it and got to be embarrassed back then. People will treat you how you let them treat you. The body only let me fake it til I saw the lesson. I hope to pass this on to my son because no one showed me. Life was insanely awesome once high school ended and I learned that lesson. If you don’t treat yourself like the top dog no one else will. On the plus side I never really had to show that new side. People recognized it and it made life incredible. Respect yourself unlike no one else, eventually you’ll see how easy it really is. Hope my experience helps someone. Wish someone taught me back then.

I honestly don't think it's "ordinary" people thinking celebrities don't have feelings or emotions. We have to remember that school bullies are also kids, and kids often don't understand the consenquences that their acts can have on others. A kid calling another one fat isn't thinking that it may change his or her entire life. So the girl in Demi Lovato's story may have just forgotten because it wasn't significant to her, not because she doesn't "care". As harsh as it may sound, sometimes you just have to find a way to move on. And if you absolutely want to talk to your childhood bullies, try to explain your feelings instead of expecting them to remember what they did and apologize right away. They probably forgot all that happened the following 2 or 3 years.

It's very sad if her bullies took it that far but she did start the bullying herself according to her own account. Now she's on Joe Rogan's podcast with a huge audience still bullying this girl by calling her out and talking smack by implying that she was a horrible person who should be thinking about the things she did still. She's truly being unfair to people who were bullied as children and didn't have the ability to stand up to their bullies let alone pick the fight in the first place and keep it going into their 30's.

I STILL at 27 now remember the girls and boys who bullied, and took advantage of me almost everyday. Which escalated to bullying and threatening my friends. Vandalizing my home, breaking in, cops getting involved, house arrest, etc. It got bad. I still remember that sh*t. It still makes me angry that I tried to take the high road so many times when I should have just thrown down with them and got it over with. But in the end, their personal choices resulted in most of my major bullies being dead now from accidents regarding partying too hard and making pretty poor choices. @Hun Bun yeah the only difference is that the girl bullied her when they were 12 theyre like 30 now and what are u talking about those ppl dont change thats ignorant they were children it sounds to me like the only reason Demi wasnt the bully in this situation is bc the other girl was more popular so ppl took her side bc she was calling her a bitch
@cmr20903 жыл бұрын
Joe don’t want to talk back at Demi but she really gonna blame a 12 year old girl still after everything come on she couldn’t even get mad tbh cause she knows having a grudge over someone who did something to her at 12 years old is dumb 😂

I remember there was a kid in my Highschool named Carl ...Carl was a dorky looking kid and got bullied so badly until one day he shouted to a guy named Jessie " i swear to Christ jessie i'm going to shoot you dead before the school year is over!!" I still remember the rage...Jessie left carl the fuck alone after that... Carl was on ROTC rifle club...Carl was not fucking around. It's easy to say "oh let it go" from you keyboard yeeears later... but as a Kid your social life *is* everything when your 15 or 16 ...being cool and being accepted in a group is as important as breathing air.. Back in our Tribal days as hunter gatherers being rejected from a main group meant DEATH. It meant you would not be able to find a mate and could not pass on your Genes. it's programmed into us the need to be accepted by a social group... Kids can be ruthless and that can hurt you in those sensitive developmental years. Some people dont forget the fat jokes...They don't forget the racial slurs and the laughter or the feelings of humiliation and shame in front of the entire cafeteria...The Rumors that spread about your body after you trust someone you thought were close and they treat it like a joke Jackie W in my HS slept with a guy and the whole school said she had STDs this guy Ross in my school was rumored to only have one testicle Cameron was very very obese Kids can be ruthless and 12 years old is a sensitive age

It’s not though. Words stick with people for years. To anyone who’s been bullied they probably remember exactly who the person or people were, what they look like, what they said etc. it’s important for people to realize how much their words matter. Sure it was a long time ago but it affects people for years and years after

Well she still has the grudge, whether we like it or not. Which is why it would've been so important for her to make amends for step 9 as she said. But she didn't really so this can even affect her recovery...

Demi Lovato is queen of going through shit everyone else goes through, and blaming her shitty life choices on it. It’s called life, dude. She’s the victim in every aspect of her life. The best thing she can do for herself is to get over her addiction for fame and live a normal life. She’s clearly too weak minded to live life in the limelight.

@xLostInFirex3 жыл бұрын
Okay, the bullying was awful and uncalled for but I don't like/agree with how she blamed (yea, she said she doesn't but honestly saying this seemed just out of courtesy, to me it seems that she really does blame her) her eating disorder on these girls from mid school and say they ruined her life. They sure weren't helping but a person telling you you're fat isn't gonna create the eating disorder itself, it's deeper than that, thought she'd understand by now and not blame everyone else (the yoghurt shops, mid-schoolers and whatnot).
