I agree with you about put the weapons down and talk, but it’s incorrect to say the two factions have been fighting for 2000 years, unless you’re referring to something else I don’t know about. Historically large scale immigration of Jewish people to Palestine occurred during British rule before WW2 in the 20th century, and then after the Holocaust. The mass removal and violence against Palestinians also occurred in the 20th century.

I did a little experiment yesterday where I made chatgpd calculate a prognosis how long it'd would take for a "hypothetical country" to collapse after I gave them a scenario of an armed conflict with a military group of an occupied country, having another conflict with the a neighbouring country, plus attacks from a 3rd power, plus all the numbers on BIP numbers, including debts, military spending, monetary, military and political cover from a major power in the UN, the number of people who left already etc etc etc. So basically a 60% chance for the next 3-5 months if there isn't an improvement on the political field, as its taking a huge toll economically. It is however "just" chatgpd but it does allign with what politicians and a former military leader said before.
